March 25, 2010 12:16 pm I was sooper doooper skeptical before.  Now?  Now so much.  Actually kinda excited
March 19, 2010 12:16 pm I am absolutley loving this stuff...LOVING IT.
March 11, 2010 3:50 pm @stuclach I completely agree that iTunes is an enormous best to comete with.  However, if Graphic.ly opens up its ecosystem (unlike the iTunes relatively closed ecosystem), then I think its got a good chance of doing well.
March 11, 2010 3:39 pm @stucklach I wouldn't worry about Graphic.ly at all.  Just because Apple *might* start delivering comics doesnt mean there won't be other alternatives.  Hell, Barnes & Noble just announced that it is developing an iPad app that will give customers access to all of the eBooks, magazines and newspapers in the Barnes & Noble eBookstore, as well as the existing content in their Barnes & Noble digital library. (which includes eBooks and content customers have downloaded to their nook eBook reader.)
March 11, 2010 3:36 pm @Kahunablair - didn't say it was anti-indie, just said it was geaed towards larger companies/publishers/distributors (its architecture, design, and operation).
March 11, 2010 3:35 pm Who knows how this is ultimately going to play out, but I'm worried about the implications for indie creators.  iTunes (as a model) is geared towards large and established publishers - not indie types.  It will most likely be the same for books (including comics) on the iPad. This is good for the larger publishers (even the medium sized indie publishers).  But what about the smaller indie publishers or the single creator publisher types? I worry they will be cut out of the loop, and the promise of digital comics will be lost to those who stand to benefit the most from it.
March 11, 2010 2:29 pm I ended up ordering:

The X-Men Omnibus, Vol. 1
Iron Man Omnibus, Vol. 1
Secret Wars Omnibus
Wolverine Omnibus Vol. 1
Golden Age Marvel Comics Omnibus Volume 1
The Ultimates Omnibus'

Unfortunately, I didn't get any of them.  Bummed, but not incensed.  Heard of many people agitating for some sort of recompense from Amazon (ie. the "call and yell at them with righteous indignation" strategy).  Wasn't going to go that route.  Couple of days later, I was happy to get the $25 gift certificate...which I used (in conjunction with another $15 certificate I had kicking around) to buy Mass Effect 2 for my 360...for $5.99.  Win!
March 10, 2010 12:29 pm Isn't this guy one of the characters from the Superhero Squad cartoon?
February 17, 2010 2:12 pm Huge congrats guys.  You deserve it enormously.  You've been producing great content for years, and have been struggling financially to do so.  This is your reward for giving us so much over the years, and getting soo little (comparatively) in return.  I cannot wait to see what you do with this new platform and new resources.  And yes, I am going to continue to be a member because thats my way of saying thanks for all the enjoyment and enertainment you've provided for me over the years; thanks for making my morning bus commutes to and from campus less boring; thanks for helping shoulder my teaching burden (yeah, thats right, I use iFanboy is my comics classes); and most of all, thanks for seriously consistently upping the tone of comics discussion.
