Great Pick!

I would also say that all the people that love Incredible Hercules, of which their seem to be many on the site(me included), should check this out. The writing is on par and in a similar goofy vein and the art is superb.

Totally agree with the Conner/Maguire comparison.  The changing facial expressions on Satanna's tiger guard behind her while her badger sidekick is ranting are priceless.

@Mangaman a Marvel/Square/Disney crossover would be cool, but considering Disney and Squeenix have been butting heads alot recently(according to the video game sites and whatnot), I wouldn't hold my breath.

@ivithebatmanivi Gargoyles has been a comic for quite some time now I believe.

But the biggest thing everybody is overlooking is the greatest possible duck mashup ever:

Donald Duck vs. Howard the Duck!

I think people might be calling this contrived because Trask and the whole porposition to ban mutant birth story element kind of came back out of nowhere kind of(I think he actally popped up in the first Xforce arc, but I dropped that book so I could be wrong).  I don't have that much of a problem with it, but I think that might be what it is.

I personally am a little bored with the series right now though, since the formation of the dark team in the first chapter, it doesn't seem like any thing of significance has really happened and there are only 2 issues left.  Plus, I think I can see what the end is going to be already.  The X-men will rescue the people in lockup and are tottally going to ceceed from the US and form a new mutant nation in a cool underwater base, but the Dark team is still going to be around and be the official team under Osborn's rule for the duration of dark reign, however long that may be.

August 3, 2009 10:22 pm @BigE Totally agree with you.  Hearing about the series made me want to start picking it up in trade and with the 99 cent next issue I'll probably hop straight into collecting it in issues right away.

I was very let down by the end of this.  From what I could tell, it just basically reset Cable and Xforce back to where they were before this started.  So in the end what we get out of this is, Apocalypse is back.  Feh.

@Jimski  I agree with what you said about the art.  I'm not fan of Crain's style.

June 12, 2009 11:17 am Good review.  I think the smoke and fog is part of Doken's phermone power thingama-stupid-jig though, but it still was a little confusing of a fight scene.
May 15, 2009 4:23 pm Great review.  I now totally want to see Wes Anderson make this into a movie.
May 1, 2009 4:07 pm Just got out of the theatre and I though it was alright.  I had the same reaction I did to X3, which was hey look there's some cool actiony stuff going on but I don't really care about the characters for the most part and nothing unexpected happened the whole film.  Although Liev Schreiber was great, and it would have been a much cooler movie if they just focused on Logan and Victor's effed up realtionship to each other rather than being continuity obssessed with the previous X films and showing how Logan got to where he was in those films.  As for the ending at my theatre, we didn't get Wolvie in Japan.  We got Deadpool's arm reaching out of the rubble and grabbing his head, now with the lips cut open, and him saying 'Shh..'
April 20, 2009 6:13 pm It's good solid Peter David writing, not  dragged into myraid marvel events Peter David.  So if you enjoy his work, I'd think about picking it up.  I got it all in issues, and it's still one of my favorites.
April 9, 2009 8:30 am I agree with you CaptainJack, this was much more in the line of Nova and Guardians than it was the Darkhawk mini before.  Even though I could kind of see the twist coming it was still cool as hell.
