June 19, 2008 12:01 am I read it today, and found it enjoyable. I thought there were moments that the bit of action moved the development as well. I'm new to JLA, but I've been enjoying it and looking forward to the next one.

So this first part is in response to @jimski and I really agree that it is kind of hard to sit through Ang Lee's version after the first time in theaters. I don't think there's been a time where I didn't fall asleep during it. I really enjoyed it in theaters for some reason, but doesn't hold up to multiple viewings and its not the action just some of the cast didn't stand out well for me. I actually liked Sam Elliot and Josh Lucas most in the film. Eric Bana looked too bulked out for a scientist to me and probably trying to hide his accent, and Jennifer Connelly as much as I enjoy some of her work I didn't buy in the role. I think it was just how the characters were written. Also, I don't know what villain the father was supposed to be, but I didn't really care for his final confrontation like most others.

This new one, it felt more like what I knew of the Hulk. As far as I knew of the original Hulk was basically Frankenstein's Monster. I believed Ed Norton's performance over Bana's since it seemed like he was making it his own character. Liv Tyler I thought did a good enough job that I believed she really cared for him and wanted to believe that a part of Banner was still in the Hulk. I had heard Hurt's version of Gen. Ross was in line with a trade/arc but I can't recall which but his performance, motives and looks. I could also see why Betty would hate him so much, but still loves him to some degree. The most surprising thing about this movie was the director. I was not too fond of the Transporter movies mainly the second. This felt like such a departure though that if I didn't know I would have never have guessed. As it is late, I should wrap this up. I was not surprised by them saying it was not crowded at the time they were seeing it maybe. I saw it twice and it was packed at 5pm on Friday and completely sold out and fully seated on Saturday afternoon. So far this Summer most of the movies I've seen have been awesome and look forward to more.

June 17, 2008 12:24 am @thebouv I gotta agree with the Green Lantern recommendation. I jumped on with Secret Origins #1 and have been enjoying the story of Hal Jordan. It's also showing me a lot about the history of the Green Lanterns. Also, if you read Rebirth you will find out how flawed Hal Jordan was and what he has to deal with since he came back. I'm looking forward to where this series is heading and it seems really promising.
June 12, 2008 9:04 pm I think the main problem I have with it now is how short it seems to be. Last weeks' seemed to be going somewhere interesting and then ended. I didn't even bother reading the second part, because I thought it was just a one part story that I've seen others like it before. Then I read this issue and found out it was a continuation. So I'm not even going to bother going back and reading either issue. I think I'm just done with it and can't see myself continuing to buy it in hopes that it will get better. I'd rather there be a good comic of each of them instead of bad ones with all of them.
June 10, 2008 11:50 am I too am reading it and enjoying it. I'm kind of getting back into comics and its cool to see variations of heroes I'd learned about from cartoons and such then going into comics. I have an understanding of who most of the characters are and the series is only on issue 3 so I'm sure it'll start to pick up as everything is setup. Its a fun read and I'm enjoying it.
May 29, 2008 2:47 pm After I had heard that Secret Origins was a good jump on point for #1 I've been hooked. I'm looking forward to reading what's to come, and picked up Rebirth which I thought was awesome.
May 28, 2008 2:33 pm I enjoyed the MTV Spider-Man series, and was hoping for another season or two. It ended on a really interesting cliff hanger. I hope Spectacular Spider-Man makes it way here. Now will the 90's Spidey and X-Men series ever makes it way fully on to DVD or somewhere like hulu.

My all time favorite comic book games are Ultimate Spider-Man and X-Men on Genesis.  I also enjoyed the Marvel fighting games. I'm sure there are more I can't think of right now too.

Did anyone play the Quake based game X-Men: Rise of Apocalypse? Quake mod I think with X-Men clones as villians and the hero was made by Magneto. Multi-Player let you play as the X-Men. It was kind of fun from what I remember.

May 27, 2008 7:35 pm I'll read it anyways, but I kind of was hoping for more Skrull back story again leading to Secret Invasion. I enjoyed the last issue so interested to see what comes up.
May 27, 2008 6:26 pm I'm back into comics after a long break. I'm living back at home and go to the new location of the shop I started at over 10 years ago. I would collect my Maximum Carnage/Clonage issues and Spider-Man cards. This was before I appreciated comic books. Now the new location is even closer so when it's nice I walk to the shop for exercise on Wednesdays and a break from job hunting. He has some great deals on almost anything he carries and holds my selected titles now. So it's nice having that cool little shop in the area to frequent weekly. Also, bought my Chicago Comic-Con tickets early and discounted.
