May 1, 2012 11:05 pm and he has an Oscar nomination from that writing credit. Many people forget this.
May 1, 2012 9:58 am I love how this is being marketed more as a drama than a big action flick. I feel like I just watched a trailer for a Godfather film. I have no doubt that Nolan is going to pull off something wonderful with this.
April 24, 2012 1:23 pm Got that Amanda Conner book preordered! DC also has a Conner art book coming this fall. They will look awesome together on my bookshelf. My favorite artist behind Darwyn Cooke.
April 23, 2012 6:54 pm ANGEL & FAITH REBEL BLOOD TMNT Light week! I like light weeks. It gives me time to catch up on reading other things. Which brings me to... BQ: "The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe" biography by J. Randy Taraborrelli.
April 23, 2012 2:22 pm I gotta side with SmoMan on this one. I met Roberson at a signing when his Superman run kicked if, and he seemed like a nice guy. But then I heard him on a podcast (think it was Word Ballon) a month or so ago where he came off as kind of a douche. I doubt that if DC was giving him the type of work that he feels he deserves that he would have been so public about "his principals." I wish him the best on his future endeavors; I did really enjoy the little I read of iZombie and Cinderella. But something about his attitude really irks me.
April 20, 2012 3:45 pm Image is pretty much my go-to publisher for the Awesome these days. And there is indeed plenty of Awesome on this list.
April 20, 2012 3:43 pm It's basically a PR move, getting a big name to write a forward. Kinda like saying, "Hey potential customer if you're a fan of Big Name Writer X, then you will probably enjoy this book too, because it's of similar taste and he liked it enough to write a intro for it."
April 19, 2012 1:21 pm In retrospect, I wish I had a theme for the sketchbook I started last year. I typically just see what I like from the artists and just go with that. But I love everything I have in there. Anyway.. This is all good advice, Molly. I would also add that if, on the rare occation, an artist offers to do a quick free sketch for you then show your appreciation by buying something from their table. As stated above, it makes them feel good and you may even make a friend in the process.
April 12, 2012 1:28 pm FYI... O.M.A.C was the least bought book of the New 52. But that doesn't mean Mister Terric is off the hook. I had hopes for this book. Dropped it after two issues. The art was horrendous. And I will never forgive it for turning PG into a weak supporting cast member.
April 12, 2012 12:32 pm I think I'm trying out Birds and Suicide Squad once the artist shuffle goes into effect (I'm already on Animal Man and Resurrection Man). I guess this is one of the desired effects of such a move. DC is looking at me with a devilish smile as they take my money.
