This is in-tune with what I’ve been reading in Supergods. It’s refreshing to read this character with a clean slate,…

Whoa! I had very low expectations going into this, but Daniel surpasses everything I’ve seen from him before and delivers…

Fun. That single word sums up this story. The art was the best I’ve ever seen by Giffen, even if…

October 20, 2010 4:56 pm I haven't read it, but I love Urasawa's work.  If you liked this, you should check out Monster (the anime or the manga).
September 27, 2010 12:46 pm This preview definitely turned me off from this book.  I'm not digging the art, and I see super dudes blasting energy beams at each other.  I'm so tired of the traditional superhero-y art.  Give me Aja, Lark, Hardman, etc...
September 27, 2010 12:38 pm Secret Warriors has been my favorite Marvel book for a while now.  The only characters that you need to know are Nick Fury, Dum Dum, and the Howling Commandos.  I can't even remember the last time Fury's team of Super kids were a significant part of the story.  It's mostly just the story of the PMC Howling Commandos and their war against 2 competing terrorist organizations.
September 25, 2010 10:03 pm As Bendis' discussion continued, I believe what he was getting at - or at least what his points brought to my mind was this: if we believe comics to be a legitimate art for (and they are), then where are the legitimate, and professional critiques.  It's the difference between a professional film critic and a movie news blog.  I'm not saying one is better than the other, but it would be good to see both.  But the work has to warrant it.
September 24, 2010 12:28 pm So many great characters: Grifter, Midnighter, Jenny Sparks, Jack... well, most of the Authority.  I'd prefer they stay self contained, but I do think the Authority would fit into the DC universe without being redundant.
September 22, 2010 10:09 pm @Peterpark18102 - I've loved every issue and completely agree.  I've never appreciated Epting on Cap as much as most people, and here he seems like a perfect fit.
September 22, 2010 12:50 pm If Hickman's run ends as well as it's been going, then I want an omnibus hardcover collection.  I wish there had been 1 consistent artist throughout, but judging from his first issue, I wish it had been Epting from the start.

While it pains me to read that Wildstorm is ending, it does seem encouraging that they are taking a look at what made these characters great and developing plans to reinvigorate them going forward.  I have occasionally tried to read what they've been putting out in WildC.A.T.s, Gen 13, and the Authority and it just seemed... like a mess.

Moore's WildCATs, Ellis' Authority and Stormwatch, the work that Brubaker, Giffen and others just built such a rich cast of characters, and it was all being wasted.

I hope they stay self contained, or are very carefully handled within the DC universe (like Jack Knight).

I had never even heard of Zuda before.

September 20, 2010 6:02 pm DnA, Ghost Rider, Elektra, Iron Fist and Moon Knight... I'm sold.  Punisher on a team? Sold.  Just don't pull this into Events... even though, I suppose this group is probably being born for an Event.
