July 28, 2012 4:48 pm Not quite as good as last week's stellar issue but still maintains a high standard. The Jordan - Sinestro dynamic is at its best when they strip away the comedy and sarcastic insults and really get down to their hatred / lack of trust for each other. Even with Hal saving Sinestro from the Indigo tribe, there's still no love. I thought it was initially a mistake confining the current arc to just Hal / Sinestro, however it has definitely improved over the last few weeks and is still the key Lantern read. In terms of how Black Hand fits into the Guardian storyline, or whether it is a separate strand, we shall see. Twitter: MArtel_79
July 28, 2012 4:40 pm Other than the issue including a blatant Predator-clone, I thought this was an above average issue for this comic since the relaunch. It has certainly got better since the inital arc but since then, it just hasn't settled down into a consistent storyline, instead limiting itself to one-shots or stories last just a couple of issues. This constant starting from scratch doesn't benefit anyone involved. Twitter: Martel_79
July 28, 2012 4:36 pm I have enjoyed the ongoing arc here with the eventual confrontation with the Guardians looming however this a poor issue as not a gret deal happened. I'm never a fan of an issue-long battle, taking up the whole comic but that's we got here. The dissention between the alphas was a highlight but other than that, a bit of a mess. Twitter: Martel_79
July 18, 2012 8:55 am I asked my comic book guy for this purely because the name sounded interesting and it was a #1. I heard it was zombie-related but this is considerably separate to the Walking Dead and all others of the genre I have so far read. Within the first issue, it sets out some interesting questions that will definitely keep me interested for the forseeable. I hope it gets a chance to build its own fanbase and avoid obvious comparisons. I do find myself more and more drawn to Image comics. Over the past year, they are reeleasing a lot of high quality titles that go off in their own direction. This is my POTW however it is worth pointing out I've not read WD#100 yet. Twitter: Martel_79
July 14, 2012 1:32 pm I was initially not looking forward to an issue-long fight but the dialogue from 'Thomas' gave a lot to his motivation. Whether he was a manipulation of the Court or telling truth will, I'm sure, come out in time. I think this whole storyline shows how beneficial it is to have it spread over 10-12 issues. I find, in arcs lasting 4-6 issues, something gets left behind and there is usually an unsatisfactory conclusion. Here, there is closure, perhaps temporary, however it is now preparing for the next arc, Joker etc. In terms of DC, I hope the upcoming Lantern War is handled just as well. Twitter: Martel_79
May 27, 2012 8:33 am This could be the start of a very promising storyline. Having the villain aim his attack on the JL itself, instead of just the world, makes it more personal, gives him a good backstory to reveal, looking forward to next issue. Steve being tortured was well done, showing that pretty much anyone can be broken. I hope this brings the comic back on track. I know the re-boot for JL has drawn criticism however I just think it was more awkward, introducing new members at the end of each issue and I just don't see any point in Aquaman being there. @Martel_79
May 27, 2012 8:20 am Not a great happens here but it was still a good read in progressing the larger storyline with the Guardians. I've always found Guy to be far too annoying, too cliched, whereas John, not exactly life of the party, adds a good balance. If John were to die in this storyline, I'd have difficulty in reading this if it is just based around Gardner. @Martel_79

March 18, 2012 5:46 pm This issue didn't really do a great deal for me other than to give more build up to the eventual clash between the GLC and the Guardians. Given that it will cover at least three titles, this is going to be a huge event so it makes sense for it to be a slow build up. However, that conversation between Sinestro and Hal aside, nothing really happened, the alleged shocking story of the Indigo tribe not likely to be revealed until future issues.
March 18, 2012 3:28 pm I felt as though this title was a slow starter in the first few editions but 6 & 7 have been very impressive. Great ending, especially where I thought Batman had let NoBody fall into the acid. I felt the relationship between Batman & Robin was very cliched in the first couple issues but in 6 & 7, it has really developed into something quite dark and I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops.
