February 9, 2013 10:08 am This is the first time I've rated a book 1 star. Animal Man was slightly better just because the art was more consistent, and I like that the fill in artist on some of those pages actually resembled the look of AM so far. I wish I'd have dropped both titles after those awful prelude issues and given that money to a different title.
January 25, 2013 8:07 am The narration boxes were a bit over the top in this issue. Was there even a third-person voice in the previous two issues? For me it just changed to tone too much. There were some great art moments, specially the stuff with Thor, but overall this offers nothing for me that Avengers proper doesn't have.
January 12, 2013 10:32 pm Too bad about Snyder leaving, but his run had gotten pretty stale after the first few issues. I'll use this as a jumping off point for Swamp Thing and Animal Man both. Pendulum is really swinging away from DC and toward marvel/image lately. I hope DC can come up with something new and noteworthy soon.
January 11, 2013 5:48 pm I'm wondering how present-day Thor got all those wounds? I think it was Ron who described how Ribic makes Thor's axe look heavy, and that he communicates just how strong Thor has to be to weild it. That final panel really made me understand that description. He could have gone for a more staged, across the chest pose or something, chin down and looking up through his helmet. Instead we get a posture that is very natural, almost remeniscent of hellenistic sculpture.
December 25, 2012 4:40 pm I'm hoping someone can explain the timeline of this issue. I tried to piece together the story from the dates given, but it seemed somewhat disjointed and I'm not exactly sure what we're to assume happened with the full page spread of Clint aiming his bow at the van. Any thoughts?
November 22, 2012 9:11 am Really didn't care for this, and I was probably more excited about this than any other marvel now book. The art was just awkward with muddy colors, and I'm not too interested in the sci fi whacky side of Captain America.
November 8, 2012 5:12 pm My interest in this book wanes each issue.
November 3, 2012 12:24 pm I liked the human touch in this issue. A nice break from all the heaviness of the Green, Red, and Rot.
October 17, 2012 5:38 pm I love Negan as a new villain. Only seen him in 2 issues and I already can't wait until someone kills him. Only downside is that these issues just read soooo fast
