it should be Animal Man 16, not Swamp Thing.
and the last page of Thor is friggin awesome.
Awwwww Doop!
Dudes, how can you not have that two page spread of that Star Destroyer coming out of hyper-space right on top of the X-Wings from Star Wars #1? I stared at those pages for about 2 hours and 35 minutes. Epic.
Same here!
Oh that last panel of Thor GoT made me giddy like a schoolgirl, so F’n awesome.
Thor looks like he has a Skrull chin
Nope. Just the blood of lesser foes.
Science!
“This might be one of Ron Richards’ Greatest Comic Book Moments.” LOL, followed by the worst seeing as Darkhawk got…well, you know. I’m sure he’ll be back, though.
Hehehe yeah I winced when I saw the following panel.
Scalera’s so awesome, good to know he’s following Secret Avengers with Journey into Mystery.
I really think the TMNT issue should have got a nod here. Perhaps the final page / panel? Knocked my socks off. Also, no love for the final issue of Sweet Tooth? Come on now…
Even his brass knuckles say “DOOP”.
The Doop Knuckles were my favorite thing I saw all week
The Thor, Peter Panzerfaust, and WatXM pages all had me giddy. I hadn’t been so excited about final page cliffhangers since Runaways.
I laughed so hard at Otis Berg. Thank you for that. Never would’ve seen it otherwise.
Esad Ribic’s art in Thor is amazing ! Plus Otis berg, Otis berg ?
Middle Management Vader was the best…he doesn’t look so evil now…
Love that Vader has to worry about money issues for the Empire…!
I’m wondering how present-day Thor got all those wounds?
I think it was Ron who described how Ribic makes Thor’s axe look heavy, and that he communicates just how strong Thor has to be to weild it. That final panel really made me understand that description. He could have gone for a more staged, across the chest pose or something, chin down and looking up through his helmet. Instead we get a posture that is very natural, almost remeniscent of hellenistic sculpture.
Good week. I don’t care for Bradshaw’s work very much, but that double page spread is poster worthy. The Thor panel though … phew … I think I stared at that page for a full minute. And then I thought about it for a few hours.
The Darkhawk spread reminds me of a scene from the film “The Mask”.
I get an Art Adams vibe from that Wolverine and the X-men panel.
Great stuff by Nick Bradshaw! Kitty Pride has never looked more fierce
Definitely an Art Adams feel, I think Bachalos work on W&TXM gives that book much more personality…and they need to drop Storm since we got now hawked Storm coming back in Uncanny X-Force (stoked)….also I don’t dislike Btadsahw but the originality of Bachalos work made that book stand out, Phil Noto would be a solid fill in on that title to give Bachalo or Bradshaw a break.
I’d have made an argument for the last page of Thunderbolts with Deadpool telling Red Hulk “TOLD YA!”
I think the last two pages of Sweet Tooth were my favorite moments of the week. A bit of a cheat but they really made me emotional as Lemire closed the series on such an emotional note.
A cheat? What other way could it have ended?
Bradshaw & Scalera!
Scalera IS a beast, Doop rules & love The Hook.Thor panel is stunning.
That image of Doop was one of those times I had to stop reading and show my wife (who by all means would not give a crap). It was just too much awsomeness for me to take in alone.
