March 31, 2010 2:35 am Practically everyplace I've ever been with pinball has the Next Generation pinball machine. I'm generally pretty terrible at pinball, but I do love that machine.
March 26, 2010 2:00 am I'd like to see this story as a movie with David Carradine as Tony Stark...if only David Carradine didn't end up like Tony Stark is apparently about to end up.
March 25, 2010 1:34 am Oh fuck! I even scanned first to make sure it hadn't been done yet, and as soon as the page reloaded I realized what a fraud I am. Apologies to Lady Tartan and, indeed, the entire community.
March 25, 2010 1:33 am Wow! I really hope they spared no expense on this.
March 24, 2010 3:17 am I just picked up my first statuey thing at the ECCC: a Daredevil bust (yellow costume) and now I have the itch to want more. I don't think I could pay full price for one, but that Quitely statue makes me awfully unsure of that policy.
March 24, 2010 1:43 am @Heroville Well, sure, now that we know about the Avengers plan and what a licensing mistake it would have been, and essentially everything else you said, too, I agree with you in retrospect. But for Marvel's business stand point back then (I worked in a theater at that time so I probably thought about it more back then than most people) I really think they should have if for no other reason than they were really doing things right for the most part at that time. The first X-men movie had just come out about a year ago I think and Spider-man was about 6 months out, so I had confidence that Avi Arad (again, retrospect proves I'm wrong) was smart enough to do it right. Plus I love being passionate about 9/11 for all the wrong reasons.

I hold a completely nonsensical grudge over this movie. After 9/11, I can't believe somebody at Marvel, probably that asshole Avi Arad, wasn't like "Oh, don't we have a character named fucking America? Why don't we make a movie about him immediately."

Anyway, I'm sure I'll see this when it comes out and although I would probably prefer Chris Pine to Chris Evans, I'm sure they're basically the same in the end. I certainly can't think of anybody better, really.

March 8, 2010 2:06 am I'm so glad I live in Seattle! This bitch is going to be amazing.
February 14, 2010 2:14 am I'm wondering if anybody else really hates Deodato's art? I don't avoid many artists, but he's a book killer for me. I think it's just because of that Gwen Stacy story, but whatever it is I really can't seem to move past it.
January 14, 2010 10:40 pm He writes it stoned and I make it a point to read it that way. Being a fan of Kevin Smith's I do like this, but I might not like it if I wasn't a fan of his. I'm pleasantly surprised at Walt's art, too. I've never seen him before he teamed up with Kevin, but I think it looks good. Especially his retro art, I have to agree with Hawkboy.
