  1. Is this good?  I may read this in paperback.

  2. @Kickass

I meant to drop it after the first issue, accidently preordered the second, and it was even worse.  It read like really bad fan fiction.

  3. givien the fact that kevin smith has said that he wrote this very stoned i cant be surprised whatever happens in this

  4. I have enjoyed this very much. It seems that those who don’t know much about Batman/DC continuity would like this much more than those who do.

  5. It’s a great cover at least.

  6. I don’t think the plotting is to awful but I’m a full fledged Bat-fan so you’d have to know my opinion is tainted.  Not a big fan of the art though.  Now that isn’t anything special…

  7. I don’t remember anything that happened in the first half of this arc.

  8. It’s really good actually.  If there was another name other than Kevin Smith on the cover you wouldn’t see any backlash against this.  I am really digging Walt Flanagans art too.  One thing I noticed he does a cleaner brighter style (A la the flashback sequences in the book) better than the darker and grittier stuff.  I say get Walt on a regular book today!

  9. Oh joy, more ‘joker wants to analy rape batman’ moments. What ever happened to the Kevin smith that wrote Daredevil and Green Arrow? Now THAT guy was a helluva writer. This guy? Not so much.

  10. @mikeandzod21 he smoked alot of weed

  11. @oldmanlogan88 yea. Too bad, I miss the other guy. He seemed cool and really had his shit together.
Although this was not as bad as the last few issues. Still some fan fic parts, but also some decent batman parts. Was that quilt guy an actuall villain or part of Smith’s weed hazy mind?

  12. no he’s a real villan

  13. Not bad.

  14. I am loving this. Anyone else catch the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia reference on the page at the baseball game? One of the banners reads "The knight men cometh". If you don’t know about It’s Always Sunny you need to check it out as it is the funniest show on TV.

  15. He writes it stoned and I make it a point to read it that way. Being a fan of Kevin Smith’s I do like this, but I might not like it if I wasn’t a fan of his. I’m pleasantly surprised at Walt’s art, too. I’ve never seen him before he teamed up with Kevin, but I think it looks good. Especially his retro art, I have to agree with Hawkboy.

  16. I was thinking I wasn’t enjoying this issue…until the last page!  That was great!  Tiger Woods all the way!  Love it.

  17. LOL! get this part:
    – Nightwing is in his 70’s outfit and yet Wayne’s girlfriend makes a joke about Twitter? XD!

Clearly in Smith’s Gotham Twitter existed in the 80’s. =p
Then again weed’s probably sold at a 99 cent store there too.

  18. @Mangaman – I believe the Outsiders bit was a flashback (notice Batman’s costume is markedly different).

  19. I loved this book. It was by far the best issue of the series. Call me a sap but I love the love story angle to this. I thought the last page was just awesome.
