August 6, 2012 9:14 am I liked the Deathstroke ongoing... especially the art... and I am not an Anti Liefield guy... I just don't dig that Lobo part... I think there is a break in how the character is written for the last 2 issues... and I dunno, the whole story seems way too dettached from the rest of the DCU... Lobo is like a MEGA Killer and so on and the means to destroy earth... I dunno... seems to far fetched (did I say that about a comic... oh well)... I'd call Superman or someone... This is just too simple... "bad guy escapes - go fetch him - fight - win/lose"... maybe there is a twist I am missing, but I dunno... the sales of Deathstroke so far must have been terrible if they try a new direction so far removed from the first 9 issues - which weren't the best comics ever made, but I thought that Slade was handled nice... and teh art was great And Lobo is "mega smart" and all... huh? No, I don't think that take is something I am really digging for Lobo... he has no edge, no profil... you could have used ANY character for the villan part... Lobo is just wasted here... but hell, I am still gonna buy it :-)
June 20, 2012 3:01 pm what really bugs me is language... I mean, if you use Kurt Wagner at least try to get the German right... those mistakes always make me wary if they use ANY language but English... it is just bad research... and a little detail just screws a great comic for me (but I do believe I am overdoing it right now :-) )
May 30, 2012 6:49 am I actually had this one in German as well... was a great story (eventhough I kinda recolored it myself as a kid if I remember...) I even remember the story... which is rare because the German languaged books back then where badly printed and translated... Great pick!
December 23, 2011 1:52 am I think in general it's also how you market the movies... the marketing budget is not always equally diveded between US and the rest... not a critique mind you... it just seems when a movie kinda "fails" in the US and hasn't started in Europe yet, they sometimes fuel the ads there to turn it over... and sometimes a movie does well enough in the US and mostly that's enough commercial you need to get some revenue in Europe... without much investment... cuz it's a lot harder to advertise a thing in Europe than in the US... language, Europes own movies and so on... of course there are movies that have a international marketing strategy from teh start (e.g. Superman Returns or Green Lantern) - but e.g. X-Men 1 it took some time to realize that this was a real big blockbuster and only then the marketing machine kicked in in Europe (despite the little viral internet thing they tried with this one)
December 22, 2011 9:10 am I lik ethat Superman seems to keep Batmans gift up in his butt... I mean where in his cape should he hide that thing?
December 20, 2011 6:17 am uhm.. .it would be "Hulk schlagen" - Schlag is a noun... and that sounds even too retarded for the Hulk... but anyway, they'll keep it "Hulk Smach" - did so in the Norton Flick...
December 16, 2011 9:20 am I agree... somehow these covers just do not sing my tune... except the first one... I agree that the perspectiv is somewhat cool
December 15, 2011 4:13 pm It's funny... I always forget how awesome the Kuberts are... I take them for granted too much...
April 28, 2011 3:14 am aside the wrong German ... great covers...
