January 27, 2011 6:23 pm Achingly beautiful. The drug smuggling stuff (throughout the whole mini) has seemed out of place, almost as if it were a "hey-this-can't-be-just-talking-heads-so-let's-put-some-ACTION" afterthought, but the character work has been awesome. Call me a pansy or whatever, but I was at the verge of tears in the end.
I'm gonna love re-reading this after the series it's completed.
Oh, and the gull vomiting was so gross and out of the blue that I LOL'd. A 100% Ennis moment.
I'm so seriously invested in these characters. I fear for Kinsey and the consequences of her inability to feel fear and sorrow. For Tyler and his newfound and dangerous will to be all manly and "badass". For... Well, I shall stop now.
The low pulls amaze me. I hope the TV series helps to give this comic the recognition it deserves (the highest, that is).
I think Braun's artwork is pretty much up to the level of Robertson's, and also, they pretty much have the same drawing style (slightly more... "cartoony" in Braun's case, but hey, it's cool).
Oh, and a big YAY to Ennis. Lately, the series has begun to work emotionally, and with the plot coming to a tipping point (I can't wait to the Homelander finally "breaking bad"... Or so I expect), it's not just cheap satire with a helping of black/gross-out comedy. It's something more.

Heartbreaking, awesome, perfectly crafted...

LOL @ the The Office gag.
Argh. One season and then, goodbye. Bad network choice.
"It's the startling conclusion to the debut STUMPTOWN story arc!"
The wording is a bit ambigous, but, as Kirkerson and petrorabbit say, this will probably be just the first mini-series.
