Still deciding whether or not to 'give up' on Big Two superhero books for a while.  If so, Flash Rebirth and Action Comics will get the axe.

I am, however, really looking forward to Unwritten #2, Sherlock Holmes #2 and the conclusion of Soul Kiss.

Just searched for all of the "Best Graphic Album -- New" books at any of my local Borders stores.  Not a single book available anywhere.

Seriously, publishers and booksellers...come on!  

May 4, 2009 9:02 pm I was excited when I heard that Amanda Conner was on Power Girl, but the preview DC has been running seems like really run-of-the-mill superheroing.  Do I give it a shot?

Alright, I now see how my last comment may have come off as a bit offensive.  I wasn't trying to make a dig at people's socio-economic status.  Maybe I should have put it this way: 

Even on my best days, I don't have conversations like they do on TV or in the movies.  And that's why the characters are compelling.  They say what I can't.  Maybe I'm just not that smart.  Okay, I'm definitely not that smart.

@conor @stuclach  Great writing puts words into the mouths of people who could never be as clever, succinct, or forthright if they actually lived in our world.  Sure, the premise of "Roseanne" and "Laverne & Shirley" seem 'slice of life'.  But I'm just not buyin' it.  And sorry, but are we forgetting the entire lottery dream season in ROSEANNE?  Fantasy!

March 30, 2009 5:34 pm Whoa!  I downloaded the audiobook of Pride and Prejudice not more than ten minutes ago in preparation to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  Looks like I'll be picking up this adaptation as well.

February 17, 2009 10:37 pm Thankfully, much of my stack comes from the Chicago Public Library.  Sorry, Guy-who-has-been-itchin'-to-read-From-Hell-for-the-last-two-months.  I returned it today!
