I think Geoff Johns could write an origin for Captain Carrot and I would read it and probably love it.

As a huge Superman fan I would be the first to admit that he’s had far too many origin stories written for him.  It seems that every few months there’s a new one that completely rewrites the status quo.  Having not been a fan of the last few I was really looking forward to Johns’ interpretation, something I could call cannon.

He didn’t let me down with the first issue, including all my favorite parts of the various stories that have come before.  A boy who knows he’s different, but wishes he wasn’t, trying to live his life as normal as possible.  Classic rocket.  Hormone induced heat vision.  And possibly the best reason for his gclasses I’ve ever seen.

I’ve always felt that Superman was Clark first and Superman second, which made him the unique character he is.  He’s this guy with these absolutely amazing powers, but in the end, he’s still just a boy from Kansas.

It’s only the beginning, and I’m looking forward to more.
