Look, I am not going to lie, I am a huge fan of offbeat failed 90s DC superheros. The exception to the rule is Starman, which miraculously survived and completed its run.

This is pretty much straight up classic Resurrection Man. Although it might be slightly improved, randomly while digging though the garage yesterday I saw the P-Q-R comics box was at the top of the pile. I started flipping though my old back issues, mostly it was a lot of Leonard Nimoy’s Primordials (polybagged from a subscription), Chuck and Ringo Robins,a single issue of the Quicksilver solo series made up the Qs.

Then I hit my Resurrection Man back issues. It’s still a fantastic premise for a superhero. It lends itself perfectly to episodic storytelling and DNA were and will continue to come up with weird and fun powers. A highlight of the original run was Mitch’s ability to create beautiful rainbow butterflies while being beaten to a pulp.

This issue is fun, fast, one of my only qualms about the original series was it could get a bit wordy, DNA have toned it down and this book moves along at a clip. They’ve also implemented a few questions I’ve always had about the caretakers of Mitch’s gift / predicament.

Now where the hell’s Major Bummer???

P.S. BODY DOUBLES!
