I was drawn to this title because of the cover. The muddy rise from the grave captured my imagination. The book itself really didn’t live up to this.

I think the story got off to a shaky start, but became more clear as it went along. Things only really came alive on the plane where the fight scene occurs. The villain design was quite frankly awful, and really took away from the fight.

I felt the art was very inconsistent. There were many excellent panels that really created a vivid setting, yet there were other panels that did not clearly establish the location and led to confusion. Most of the character designs and poses fell flat.

There were glimmers of interest in this book but ultimately I think it was disappointing and a waste of time reading it. The phrase ‘don’t judge a book by it’s cover’ really couldn’t be more appropriate.
