ah man I haven’t gotten around to all of my books but this may have taken my preemptive pick of the week away from animal man/swamp thing because good lord was this good.

While worlds finest was solid this book is purely amazing. I really don’t like to just heap praise but this was like the start of a classic. Robinson is a writer I love and I gotta say that the duo of nicola and trevor scott is one hell of a art powerhouse. I’m not one for comic book art (I really dislike Jim Lee’s art for example) but for some resson this really worked for me and wow was there some emotion in these pages.

While I had a few doubts about characterization in the beginning before I was like “wait its not the regular universe” the story was strong and honestly the designs of the costumes are volumes better than the current new 52 designs, even Batman’s weird japanese ninja thing is just great.

For those not in the know this book is more or less going to be the JSA of the new 52 and OH LORDY can I not wait. well it looks like another superhero book is on the pull list….this week just keeps making my pull list get bigger and bigger

In short:Good God I like this and I can’t wait to see what this series and Robinson have to offer. Even if Jay Garrick shouldn’t be that young. I can’t give this a full 5/5 but I will give it a 5/5 but consider it a 4.5/4.5 because I can imagine something better but this was really really good

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 4 - Very Good

wanted to say that I believe I may have gushed a little big too much and may bring down my grade to a 4/4.5 but I stand by what I said, it seems this book is polarizing as hell for people

  2. I liked it, we’re seeing the start of the rest of the DC heroes after the big three have come and gone.
