Remember one of our wild theories about this event when it was just starting? You know one of the big ones: Sinestro was going to die. Well funny thing.....the isn't gonna happen. In fact, Sinestro is now going to be a huge factor within the DCU as a whole...it seems.

Let me get the nitpicks out of the way, like usual. I think this issue was pretty damn fun to read and it was brilliantly written. If there was a .5 scale; a 4.5/5 would be more suited for me then a 4. But I do have one thing that bugged me about the pacing of this. I think Johns focused a bit too much on Luthor going AWOL towards the beginning. He could've easily done that within a page and get back to the plot. But to deal with 4 pages (and a few panels) seemed a bit much. Especially since....Well hello! Nekron is standing right there doing something....well something.

Okay with that out of the way.....Geoff Johns seems to be drinking some of the Grant Morrison kool-aid here isn't he? I literally mean drinking his kool-aid; cause this 'Entity' definitely seems like a Morrison idea. The stuff involving Nekron was great though; especially with the Guardians. Normally not a fan of those blue guys, but giving them some personality before their death made me appreciate them more. Then you have the stuff off planet, felt like I was reading more of GLC. Action packed and full of great Guy Gardner jives.

Ivan Reis is the artist of the year solely based on that two page spread with Guy and everyone else coming in. Everything else was fantastic, no doubt about it. But I dare you to see that two page spread and tell me Reis isn't artist of the year. Cause that would just be silly to say.

Then we get to the end and.....boy oh boy, it sure looks like 'Brightest Day' will be more interesting then we thought, huh? I hope whatever Johns has planned with Sinestro and the White Lanterns stay for a long time. At least past this event. Cause if this is all pulled from under us with only an issue, then I will restate myself after this claim: That last page is the most chills I ever got from an end of a comic. It was that good!

Some nitpicks aside, this was a fantastic issue. We only have one issue to go (well two if GL proper counts) so.....lets hope this isn't rushed in any way.
