  1. I’m a guy that likes to read previews and without spoiling anything let me tell you:

I haven’t been this excited for anything GL related in years. This could be really good, especially after that backwash of John’s GL #1 still in my mouth.

  2. This one is on my “One Chance To Impress” list. I am a bit burned out on GL, but I do recall how good Tomasi’ Corps was until he spun off the Emerald Warrior thingie. If Tomasi can recapture what made GLC so good for so long he can win me back. Otherwise I will probably just drop down to the core (pun intended?) GL book.

  3. If I see a Lantern with a color other than green I’m out.

  4. First off, I’d be surprised if NO ONE at the DC offices thought that it would be a bad idea to name the first arc of this title “Triumph Of The Will”.

Second, I’ll certainly check this out and give it a shot. The more I think about it, the more it seems that Tomasi’s great run on Green Lantern Corps was a bit of a fluke, since he really wasn’t able to re-bottle the lightning with Emerald Warriors and Batman & Robin. Perhaps it’s just that he strikes a chord with this specific cast of characters? We’ll have to see.

  5. I saw the preview for this one and it’s ultra-violent. First 5 pages has people/aliens getting cut in half, decapated, fingers chopped off.

    F’ing brutal.

Let’s hope there is a decent story behind the carnage.

  6. The wallet is getting stretched I look forward to the reviews to determine if this is worth picking up or not.

  7. This is one of my “for sure” books. I love pretty much all Green Lantern books and judging from the preview this is going to be just hugely epic.

    • This is exactly what I want from a Green Lantern Corps book. I like the possibility for smaller scale stories for a little while. Short arcs that really show these characters being space cops. I loved the interactions between Guy and John and I loved their efforts to find normal jobs on Earth. My only gripe was that John came off as a little bit too much of a jerk. Aside from that though, this was a fantastic book with fantastic art and I’m really excited to read more.

  8. I’m excited given the depth of personal problems the GL’s have been having. It is very nice and refreshing. I still can’t let go of the fact that all GL characters prior to relaunch are still around; but hey this new direction looks fun.

  9. My time with the Green Lantern Corps has come to a close, it seems. But it was one great run that started with Rebirth and lasted through the Sinestro Corps War and into Blackest Night. But it’s time for a bit of a break from this group of characters.

  10. I liked this, a lot better than the Emerald Warriors issues I read, but it felt a big too much like a teaser of the story to come rather than an actual story. (That seems to be a problem with a lot of this new 52 bigs, to be honest).

  11. Wow. I did not expect this and almost walked out of my LCBS today without it. I caved and bought all the new 52 books this week. I want to give them a fair shake. I loved this. I thought there may be too many green lanterns. I thought there were too many green lantern books. Well I liked this and issue #2 can’t come soon enough.

  12. Now this is how you write a space cop book.

  13. Absolutely loved this. kennyg is right. This is how you write a space cop book. I was upset that Kyle would not be teamed with Guy anymore because I thought that was a great buddy team but Stewart looks to be just as good. Maybe I just Guy so much I’m happy to see him riff with anybody. The art was very nice to look at as well.

More Space. More Aliens. More Guy and Stewart please.

  14. I didn’t expect to like this one, but was surprised to find out I actually did like it. Let’s see where this goes

  15. I enjoyed this , i’m not sure if i’ll be around after the next couple of issues but i’m willing to check them out, so that’s something that i can’t say about some of the other new dc books this week.
