I wasn’t particularly expecting to like this. I’ve never been a Guy Gardner fan. I really think they humanized him and made him far more sympathetic. I do enjoy seeing Green Lanterns with crappy normal lives.’

When you call your story “Triumph of the Will” and have an entire planet get wiped out, you are setting the bar pretty high. They clear it.

hearing Guy Gardner explain how the sectors are laid out was kind of neat. Good intro for new readers I think. the scenes of Green Lanterns dying are appropriatly gory without being juvenile. I always find it particularly sad when you see the ring floating away looking for the next Lantern. I found the scenes with John Stewart to be a little contrived and preachy.

I also thought the planet of sea creatures sort of reminded me of Sea Monkeys.

Overall, I found this better than my expectations going in.

I’ll keep reading it.
