AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #634

GRIM HUNT PART 1: A SPIDER-MAN EPIC TWO DECADES IN THE MAKING BEGINS!

Several years ago, one of Spider-Man’s greatest enemies, Kraven the Hunter, stalked his last prey, dying with a violent, misbegotten honor. Now, two women claiming to be his wife and daughter have tracked Spider-Man, through the urban jungle, weakening him through the Gauntlet while they prepare to attempt an unholy resurrection. They’re hunting Spiders…and Spider-Man’s friends and namesakes are in their sights.

Written by Joe Kelly and drawn by Michael Lark (DAREDEVIL) this is only the beginning of a Spider-summer that will be talked about for years to come.

  1. ASM 633 and 634 in one week?

  2. Two issues this week?

  3. Max Fiumara, Michael Lark & Marcos Martin…

    What WHAT? MAYHEM!

  4. LOL

  5. Totally forgot Joe Kelly was writing this. I am now 100x more excited. As if that was possible

  6. Add Bachalo from the other issue (and Emma Rios maybe?) to these three guys and you have an explosion of awesome art from Amazing Spider-Man this week.

  7. the main story with Joe Kelly and Michael Lark should be awesome, excited to see Lark continuing to do some Marvel work.

  8. There hasn’t been a bad Joe Kelly story in ASM yet…really looking forward to this.

  9. I’m kinda looking forward to the Marcos Martin.

  10. This is going to be awesome. Joe Kelly’s last Spidey story was amazing.

  11. This is going to be tough, but I won’t be getting this because this where I am switching to collected editions.  Wish me luck.

  12. I’d suggest waiting til after, man. This one sounds pretty good.

  13. I’m one of those fans who quit pretty shortly after Brand New Day started, and tried to jump back every once in a while, where it was either merely tolerable, but not worth my money (the recent Juggernaut arc), or just pure, unadulterated crap (everything else). While part of me really doesn’t like that they’re touching Kraven’s Last Hunt, I’ll give it a shot, and try REALLY hard to keep an open mind.

  14. Two ASMs in one week? And Joe Kelly’s writing one of them? Christmas came early!

  15. This’ll be the first Spidey comic I’ve picked up in a loooong time. Hard to resist, I love Kraven’s Last Hunt. (Hopefully that doesn’t turn out to be a reason TO resist?)

  16. I assume Bachalo’s final issue ran late and they didn’t want to push this final sequence back a week. Maybe some sort of timing involving the Comicon? I don’t know. It seems like it would only take a month to put it all back on track (get to the normally empty week), but what do I know?

  17. @JimBilly4 It’s two ASM issues in one week. Stop thinking about why and just enjoy it. Like literally every other person that’s commented on the double issue week.

  18. wait, first two people were confused. my bad. sorry if that came off as dickish.

  19. I wasn’t particularly upset, just curious why Marvel would do it. I sincerely doubt it helps sales. A one week slip is common and would only last 3 weeks. I was mainly wondering if Joe Quesada wanted to be sure a certain issue was out in time for a panel at Comicon.

  20. Yeah between these two issues and all the awesomeness packed in these creative teams my head may just explode!

  21. I wasn’t too blown away by this honestly. Good art, but the story wasn’t that engaging to me. Maybe because I don’t really care that much about the clone era…

  22. This was solid and I’m still interested but it was a bit continuity heavy.  I’ve only read a few Spider-Man stories over the last couple of years and was just led into this by the Shed arc.  Not too familiar with all the different Kravens and Spiders.  Just spent some time on Wikipedia (I never even heard of the one guy who randomly showed up).  Art was fantastic all around obviously.

  23. Holy crap this was good…..I’m really excited to see where this goes and get some answers (like how is Ezikel back?!), hope the rest of this is as good as this first part was!

  24. I’m sorry I was just clicking around the site and I noticed this issue.

Then the name Ezikel comes up……then I see the preview for ASM #634….

So I thought they retconned out the Spider-Totem stuff? If they didn’t then I am excited to hear it hasn’t.

  25. @TNC they’ve said before that everything happened just like it did except peter and mj didn’t get married they were just living together. i’m so glad that ezekiel is back

  26. Now that I’ve heard they brought Ezekial back, I kind of want to check this issue out.

  27. I loved the art and back-up stories. There were quite a lot of random, obscure characters that we haven’t heard from in a long time for my taste. The "other" Spider-Woman? Ezekiel? I kinda felt this needed a little more prepping to make me care. Hopefully all the characters we have been prepared for (the new Sinister Six) show up soon. Hopefully just some chapter one jitters.

  28. Holy SMOKES! That was AMAZING!
