September 2, 2013 4:19 pm Bummer. This has been my favorite comic book website for a while now. It will leave a small void in my Internet checking routine. The community and the pull list feature have been such valuable resources. It's great to see the podcast is sticking around. I didn't even realize you guys had switched to running the website part time. So thank you and kudos for pulling that off so well. Thanks again and good luck in everything.
August 20, 2013 7:19 pm Metal Men is among my favorite DC properties and is rather unique. This casting is spot on. Make this movie!
July 8, 2013 1:56 pm This article made me laugh a good bit. I hadn't heard either of those stories yet. Batman doesn't sit down... What a waste of time. I read the Bleeding Cool interview after this and Jenkins actually mentions a couple of pitches he would make that I think editorial absolutely should deny. He would have The Flash lose his leg to a road side bomb and Superman watch Lex Luthor blow his parents brains out. Those sort of overly grim plots are tired and would be the last Flash and Superman stories I'd want to read. My tastes aside, editorial should be there to shepherd the characters for the sake of tone, longevity and to ensure some degree of an all-ages appeal. But as Jenkins (and others before him) have suggested, some editors seem to have far exceeded that role in an attempt to micro-manage everything.
June 29, 2013 12:05 am Uncanny Avengers continues to blow me away. While reading this issue I said out loud, "this book is awesome." The crab mounts got me. In so many ways it's a successor to Uncanny X-Force which is great because that was an amazing run. Everything is well thought out and the characters so interesting. Perhaps the most impressive thing is how much content Remender and Acuna are packing into a page. This is a 20 page comic. It felt twice that length compared to some other books.
June 17, 2013 9:56 pm Sounds cool to me. Not only am I interested in a new DC book, I like all of the costume designs too!
June 7, 2013 6:04 pm This has turned out to be a great companion to Fables and it's far from filler. Plus those Adam Hughes covers never get old.
June 7, 2013 5:48 pm The picture on the left makes me smile and want to go pet my own dog. The picture on the right makes me yawn. Sadly I can't get any more disappointed in and disconnected from DC's current direction, particularly when it comes to Superman. Here's hoping the Adventures of Superman book does a Krypto story.
June 6, 2013 11:24 pm This two parter was fantastic. I'm really enjoying the structure Hickman has in place here, shifting between different characters and sub-teams. I've enjoyed every issue but obviously some have been better than others. This was certainly one of the better ones. This was also the best Deodato I've seen in a while. Ever since Dark Avengers all his work has been colored with so much black and shadow it got too dull and dreary. The brighter coloring in these Avengers issues has made a big difference.
June 6, 2013 10:38 pm The rating for this seems pretty low. I actually thought it was one of the best issues of this story. I liked seeing Betty in an alternate universe where her role was switched with Bruce.
June 3, 2013 1:14 pm I like Chris Hardwick and a lot of the content his company produces. In particular, he is a brilliant interviewer. That said, I agree with Jimski on the whole over-identifying as a nerd thing. Hardwick always loses me a bit there. I have no desire or need to pegged in a certain group or sub-culture. I like what I like. Sometimes it is dorky minutia.
