This is the story we have spent months working towards. Spider-Man has completed the gauntlet, now the Grim Hunt can begin. This issue has everything in it. Peter fighting the flu. Kaine! Madam Web narrating the issue. A sacrifice. A resurrection. And the unexpected return of another Spider-Man character from JMS's run (the other being Gwen Stacy's illegitimate love child in American Son). Kelly totally knocks the writing out of the park with this issue. The idea to have Madam Webb narrate the issue was totally genius. The banter between Spider-Man and Arachne is very funny and entertaining. The final scene of the third Spider-Woman's death and the resurrection of Kraven II is amazing. He's going to be out for blood and probably looking to kill the man who originally killed him, KAINE. The art on this issue works perfectly. The pages where Kaine is first scene are done beautifully gritty. I particularly like the way Ezekiel is drawn in the panel he appears in. The only problem with the art is at points the background seems very sparse such as in the cemetery scene. The two extra backup features are an added bonus. I'm not sure what's going on in the Stan Lee one but the Dematteis one is interesting. I haven't read a decent Kraven story before brand new day since the last hunt. I hope they can redeem the character of Aly Kravinoff because the Get Kraven! series was awful.
