Well, this is what everything has been leading up to over the last few months.  I felt that this first issue started off with a bang!  Joe Kelly did a nice job of penning a script that contained action while also propelling the story forward.  Madame Web is certainly going to be the tragic character of this storyline, but each and every member of the Spider squad will have their own set of issues when this story wraps up.  The potential for where each of the characters will end up is high, and while some may scoff at some of the more “mystical” elements of the story, I loved the surprising spin that the story took at the very end.  Of course, Michael Lark crushed this issue, bringing some really fine work to the table.  The back up material is definitely worth the price of admission as JMD and Fiumara create an intriguing Kraven tale.  The Stan Lee and Marcos Martin 2-pager could offer a nice, light hearted diversion for a book that will take on a serious tone as the story plays out.  This was definitely a great issue of ASM, and I can’t wait for what comes next.

Story: 4 - Very Good
