This week Josh Flanagan has the Pick of the Week!

Bonus Question: If you could move San Diego Comic-Con to anywhere else in the world, would you move it and to where?

Comments

  1. BQ: Just like an island somewhere where its only dedicated to that year round

  2. Wow, this is my smallest week in a LONG time.

    Batman and Catwoman
    Batwoman
    Birds of Prey
    Justice League of America

BQ: Minneapolis, MN. Central location for everyone in the US, yet still has an airport big enough to handle people coming in internationally. Plus it’s only 1 hour from my house. 😉

  3. ALL-NEW X-MEN #14
    BATMAN AND CATWOMAN #22
    BATWOMAN #22
    JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #6
    SUPERGIRL #22
    THOR: GOD OF THUNDER #10
    WHAT IF… AVX #2 (of #4)

  4. Avatar photo Jeff Reid (@JeffRReid) says:

BQ: Somewhere in the midwest so I can drive to it.

  5. All New X-Men
    Archer and Armstrong
    Avenger
    Deadpool
    Dream Thief
    Savage Wolverine
    Thor

BQ – Aruba Comic Con (I think I could convince my wife to go to that one)

  6. Brother Lono #2
    Avengers #16
    Avengers Assemble #17

BQ: San Francisco would be great because I have family there I could stay with.

  7. Red Sonja #1, LSH #22 & Wonder Woman #22.

Have dropped JLA #6 onwards as I’m opting out of the overpriced, under-paginated ‘Trinity War’.

BQ : Being selfish I’d say London (UK), but quite frankly San Diego deserve to hold onto it

  8. All New X-Men
    Animal Man
    Avengers
    Avengers Assemble
    Blood Brothers
    Conan
    FF
    Iron Man
    Prophet
    Savage Wolverine
    Thor
BQ: New Orleans because that city is fucking awesome

  9. Artifacts #29
Avengers Assemble #17 – going to finish “The Enemy Within” story arc and give DeConnick one last chance to convince me to keep reading this series
Batman and Catwoman (nee Robin) #22
    Ravine Vol 1
    The Shadow: Year One #4
    Avengers #16

hopefully Numbercruncher #1 and Watson and Holmes #1

    not so new but Templar

BQ: Detroit or Chicago, so I could actually go, although I still don’t know if I’m up for that much craziness or not. Bailed on Motor City Comic Con this year after trying for 2 and 1/2 hours just to get to the parking lot!

    • ” going to finish “The Enemy Within” story arc and give DeConnick one last chance to convince me to keep reading this series”
You didn’t like the pre Enemy Within story lines from her? That first Arc she did was one of my favorites of post Marvel Now books.

  10. Looking forward to Batman ’66 a lot. The previews look awesome. The last issue of Thunderbolts was a pleasant surprise.

    WONDER WOMAN
    CONAN THE BARBARIAN
    THUNDERBOLTS
    FF
    PROPHET
    INVINCIBLE
    JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA’S VIBE
    BATMAN ’66
    JLA

BQ: I guess I’m fine with SDCC where it is. I’m pretty sure as much as I’d like to go, it will never happen. It seems way too big and way too difficult to navigate. Hope everyone has a blast though!

  11. Pretty average week for me. Didn’t drop anything. I’ve added BATMAN ’66 and THOR, both of which I expect to keep on my pull-list for the months to come. I’d been trying to avoid THOR (I read the first issue only), but I’ve finally been convinced to start pulling it. I already picked up all but a couple of the back-issues I’d missed, and I’m looking forward to catching-up. I’m curious about RED SONJA but at this point have no intention of keeping with it beyond the first issue.

    ALL-NEW X-MEN #14
    BATMAN ’66 #1
RED SONJA #1 (I went with the Fiona Staples cover)
    THOR: GOD OF THUNDER #10

BQ: The Orlando convention center is 3 times the size of San Diego’s, but MegaCon gets 1/3 of the attendance of ComicCon. Switch.

  12. POWERS: BUREAU #6
    X-FILES: SEASON 10 #2
    DAY MEN #1

BQ: Los Angeles of course, that way I can party like its 1999 and crash in my own bed. And make it extra easy to register and get my ass in!

  13. Nice week. Looking forward to Thor, All New X, and Wonder Woman.

BQ: Philly or New York, so I could attend with minimal hassle. Today I learned that the iFanbase is full of selfish and lazy people. Myself included.

    🙂

    • Having never gone to either it seems like NYCC is as good or better then SDCC for actual Comic Book related stuff.

    • I find the New York Con the right balance between big and manageable . . .

    • Seems like all the big comic book announcements come from there as well. I’ve been in the unfortunate position of having never been able to afford it until I started seeing my wife and now it falls on our anniversary every year. Trying to see if I could swing it this year.

  14. BQ: Leave it where it is and put Wonder con back in SF.

  15. Light week for me. Hope there’s a recommendation list for that.

B.Q. Los Angeles, of course! Ease of access! 🙂

  16. GL New Guardians
    Supergirl
    All New X-Men
    Superior Carnage
    Thanos Rising
    Thor God of Thunder
    and Harbinger Wars

BQ: They can keep it. I’m not into crowds and I heard there’s alot of that.

  17. All New x-men #14
    Animal Man #23
    Avengers #16
    JLA #6

  18. Getting:

    Animal Man
    JLA
    Wonder Woman
    Avengers
    Red Sonja

BQ: why would i want to inflict SDCC on some other poor city?:)

  19. All-new x-men
    Avengers
    JLA
    Thor
    Wonder Woman

Light week but I’m fine that, pretty sure I have some trades coming from amazon that were out 2 weeks ago, plus I’m reading through the Bendis Daredevil run for the first time on the marvel u app (it’s awesome)

  20. Avatar photo DDangelico (@DavidDangelico) says:

    ANIMAL MAN #22
    AVENGERS #16
    BATMAN AND CATWOMAN #22
    FANTASTIC FOUR #10
    FF #9
    THOR: GOD OF THUNDER #10
    ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #25
    WONDER WOMAN #22

BQ: I’d probably have it moved to Baltimore. I live in DC so I don’t want to deal with the congestion–but I’d like it to be close enough to go to if I choose. I do love our Baltimore Comic Con though–it hasn’t (yet) been completely overtaken by Movies and TV.

  21. BQ: Austin Texas

  22. BQ: North Pole

  23. ALL-NEW X-MEN #14
    JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #6
    WONDER WOMAN #22
BATMAN ’66 #1 (technically just buying the digital versions)
RED SONJA #1 (MAIN COVER: NICOLA SCOTT)

BQ: I would move it to Las Vegas.

  24. A bit of an alright week Avengers, B.P.R.D., Dream Thief, Brother Lono, Prophet, Scarlet, Glory Vol.2 trade!

    BQ- Iceland, scenery & comics!!!

  25. Big comics of the week. Cable & X-Force, X-Factor, Batwoman, Animal Man and Wonder Woman.

BQ: I would move SDCC to Japan, apparently their exhibit halls are huge.

  26. Dropped Uncanny X-force for terrible writing and Birds of Prey.

Looking forward to Prophet, JLA, Batwoman, Animal Man, All-new X-men.

Glad DC hasn’t dropped Vibe for me, fun book.

Avengers still not doing that much for me but trying to hang on because of Hickman.

BQ: Not worried about SDCC, I have NYCC to go to in the fall.

  27. BQ: The moon. Because I can’t afford to go, so no one else should either.

  28. BEIRUT 1990: SNAPSHOTS OF A CIVIL WAR HC
    CONAN THE BARBARIAN #18

BQ: I’d move it to Amsterdam.

  29. If you’re a fan of the original Power Man and Iron Fist series, you won’t want to miss Deadpool #13 . . .

  30. WONDER WOMAN #22
    ALL-NEW X-MEN #14

Light week for me, thankfully! Still so much to catch up on.

BQ: As much as I whine about San Diego not being big enough, I’d leave Comic-Con exactly where it is. I think the fact that it’s outside of L.A. but still close enough to get Hollywood’s involvement is a good thing, in the end. Plus, as an Angeleno, I love being able to get out of town to awesome SDiego every year (usually).

  31. Average week for me: Wonder Woman, Animal Man, Scarlett, Archer & Armstrong, Shadow: Year One & Batwoman. May pick up the next part of Trinity War, but, it’s kinda iffy . . .

BQ: I would leave the convention where it is. Please, don’t move it to New York, though; I like my hometown convention as it is — I don’t really need more crowds and noise, thank you . . .

  32. BATMAN AND CATWOMAN #22
    WONDER WOMAN #22
    THOR: GOD OF THUNDER #10
    JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #6
    BATMAN ’66 #1

BQ: Raleigh, NC. Nearest city to my lil town, would allow me to drive to the show every day.

  33. Nice even week for me, not too heavy, not too light. I’m excited for more Wonder Woman in New Genesis, and the FF pool party.

    BPRD
    Batman ’66
    Conan
    F4
    FF
    Wonder Woman

BQ: Add me to the “Keep it in SD” crowd. One day I might make the trip down (I’m in Orange County), so I don’t want it to leave.

  34. Avengers
    Batman and Catwoman
    Deadpool

BQ: Philadelphia. Not because I’m bias for living near there but a major city like Philly should have a major con. I know it gets a Wizard World thing every year but it’s not the same. Seattle and Chicago are now getting major/popular cons so I vote for Philadelphia to be the next city.

  35. Finally a smaller stack this week, that’ll give the wallet a breather.

    BATMAN AND CATWOMAN #22
    JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #6
    GI JOE SPECIAL MISSIONS #5
    WOLVERINE MAX #9
    RED SONJA #1

    BQ: Cabo!

  36. Thank the Maker! A light week!

    DREAM THIEF #3
    THE TRANSFORMERS: REGENERATION ONE #93
    WHAT IF… AVX #2

Dream Thief surprised me, picked it up on a lark and it’s been a really good story so far.

BQ: San Diego can have it. HeroesCon is only about 3 1/2 hours away and it’s got the comics people with none of the media hoopla.

  37. Avatar photo consafo80 (@consafo80) says:

    Avengers Assemble #17
    Batman & Catwoman #22
    Fantastic Four #10
    FF #9
    Justice League of America #6
    Red Sonja #1
    Vibe #6
    Wonder Woman #22

  38. 1. All-New X-Men 14
    2. Avengers Assemble 17
    3. Nova 6
    4. Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin 4
    5. Thanos Rising 4
    6. Thor: God of Thunder 10

BQ: I’m Canadian, but asking that it be in Canada is probably out of the question. So somewhere Canada-adjacent. Like Detroit or Buffalo or Seattle.
