Comments

  1. My mother was the first person to KO me. I said the F Word in front of her when I was 12. She didn’t approve.

  2. The Dream Merchant #1
    Helheim #3
    The Regular Show #1
The Fall of the House of Usher (Corben!)

I also picked up the digital Adventures of Superman #3 (Justin Jordan & Riley Rossmo)

    BQ: She had me!

  3. FATALE #14
    FF#7
THE DREAM MERCHANT #1 looks interesting so I might pick it up.

BQ: My mom would make me and my brother after-school snacks and whenever friends would come over they’d be shocked because their mom’s didn’t make snacks for them. 😛

  4. Is Captain America not coming out this week? I thought I saw it on Marvels release calendar for this week.

  5. Age of Ultron #8
    Ultimate Spider-man #23

BQ: It wasn’t mothers day yesterday in the UK, we have it in march.

  6. B.Q. She bought me comics as a kid!

  7. Age of Ultron #8

Any good TPB’s I should pick up to supplement my super light week?

BQ: My mom worked weekends so she could be home during the weekdays.

  8. No new comics for me this week 🙁

BQ: She took care of my two cats for more than two months while our basement was being finished. It was a huge help.

  9. Two books for me this week? TWO?! It’s like comics somehow know how poor I am. Looking forward to Wonder Woman and W&TXM.

BQ: My mom is a cancer survivor, 16 years and counting. She can also garden like a boss.

  10. Just FF #7 for me this week. Taking it easy on comics cause I’m trying to get the house in condition to sell it.

BQ: My mom got me into gardening, but more appropriate to this site – she would bring me stacks of MAD magazine’s from the library when I was a kid.

  11. Like many of you, a very light week: only W&TXM

BQ: despite growing up quite poor, she spent all her childhood money (from picking cotton and similar jobs) on Beatles records and putting together a complete set of the Airmont Classics book series, fifty-cents at a time. The LPs and books were passed on to me when I was a kid and had a profound impact on my tastes in music and literature that lasts to this day.

  12. Looking forward to Nightwing!

BQ: My mom bought me The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel when I was 8 years old and my life was changed forever!

  13. Such a wonderfully light week I can catch up on some stuff I missed from previous weeks.

Helheim and Wolverine and the X-Men

BQ – My Irish mother can make meatballs and gravy that even my Italian grandmother respected. Nuff Said

  14. Just Ultimate Comics Spider-Man and Red Hood and the Outlaws for me this week.

BQ: I saw my mom deliver a calf once, then she showed me how to milk a cow properly. All before breakfast.

  15. BATGIRL #20
    HELHEIM #3
    NIGHTWING #20
    NON-HUMANS #3
THE LEGEND OF LUTHER STRODE #5
    THUNDERBOLTS #9
    ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #23

BQ: My mom took me to my first rock concert, KISS, when I was in 8th grade.

  16. Looking forward to Batwoman and FF, sort of a poor week all around this week.

    Going to try Dream Merchant.

  17. Weird super light week. Getting:

    Wonder Woman
    Fatale (dropped after this issue)
    Vibe (off the racks)

May get Batgirl if the preview looks good.

BQ: my Mum was a bigwig for Girls Guides of Canada, can you say cases of chocolate mint cookies?:)

  18. FF 7 and Regular Show.

You know who else likes reading these comics?

    “MY MOM!”

  19. CONAN THE BARBARIAN #16
    STRANGE ATTRACTORS HC
    THE AUTHORITY, VOL 01 HC

BQ: She’s always there when I need her.

  20. Big comics of the week. Wonder Woman, FF, Batwoman, Cable and X-Force and X-Factor.

BQ: My mom is a great motivator.

  21. FF, Iron Man, X-Factor and Non Humans for me. Isn’t the .3 issue of the Michelinie/Layton Iron Man supposed to be out?

BQ: my mother died a long time ago. But my step miter is awesome. She is a big sci fi fan, so she is super excited for the new Star Trek movie.

  22. Supergirl
    He-man
    XO Manowar
and Bloodshot. Very light week for me.

BQ: My mom was awesome. She would take us camping all the time growing up in WA state. Lost her to cancer 22 years ago when I was 16. Miss her everyday.

  23. NIGHTWING #20
GI JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #190
    GI JOE SPECIAL MISSIONS #3
    NOVA #4
    WOLVERINE MAX #7
    BATTLESTAR GALACTICA #1
    COMIC BOOK CREATOR #1

BQ: My mom always looks on the bright side of things and stays positive, just always came natural to her.

  24. Most looking forward to Wonder Woman & Batwoman. Also getting X-O Manowar, Fatale, Waid’s Green Hornet & Ultimate Spider-Man. Tempted to give Battlestar Galactica a try — I’ve never seen the show, but could use some DnA in my monthly diet again. Dream Merchant sounds intriguing, but would have to chose between it and Galactica.

BQ: My mom taught me compassion & humility & for that I am most thankful for her . . .

  25. A crazy light week – only six books. But I haven’t picked up my books from last week yet so that should offset that little problem! Besides, Wonder Woman and Batgirl are on this week’s list. Always good reads!

BQ: Her good heartedness. It’s a tremendous thing.

  26. Insanely slow week for me in comics. Probably the first time that’s happened since last year.

    Iron Man
    Nightwing

BQ: My Mom is hooked on Walking Dead so for Sunday I gave her the first trade of the comic. She ate it up so quickly she now wants more to read.

  27. Average week for me, numbers wise.

    DREAM THIEF #1
    FATALE #14
    IRON MAN #10
    THE TRANSFORMERS: REGENERATION ONE #91

Figure I’ll check Dream Thief out, it looks fairly interesting. I’m in on Fatale for the long haul. As long as Eaglesham is on board for Iron Man, so am I. Things are getting a little dicey on Transformers. Wildman’s art isn’t quite as good as it used to be.

BQ: My mom got me hooked on science fiction and fantasy. We’ve seen almost every Star Trek film, first run, in the theater together.

  28. Fatale #14, Batgirl #23, JSA:Liberty Files . . . #6, LSH #23 & Wonder Woman #23.

BQ: My Mum? Wow. To pin down just one thing is kinda ridiculous, but here goes :- She worked many extra days as a Nurse to pay for my school trips to Rome, the Rhineland & the WW1 battlefields of France & Belgium.

Honourable mention :- My Mum also taught me the ways of the ‘calving jack’ & the art of milking cows and I was stunned to read an earlier post, mirroring this. (Go boomergirl). That’s another one in the eye to the claim most comic book fans are vitamin D deficient basement dwellers.

  29. AGE OF ULTRON #8
    WONDER WOMAN #20
    REGULAR SHOW #1
    WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #29
    NOVA #4
INDESTRUCTIBLE HULK, VOL 01: AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D. PREMIUM HC
    AVENGERS: THE ENEMY WITHIN #1

BQ: my mom made me who I am today.

  30. Dream Merchant
    Batwoman
    Edgar Allen Poe
    BPRD
    JSA:Liberty Files
    Cable & X-Force
    Age of Ultron
    Non Humans
    Nova

BQ: she bought me my 1st bong!

  31. CABLE AND X-FORCE #8
    FF #7
    GAMBIT #12
    HELHEIM #3
    NON-HUMANS #3
    NOVA #4
    PATHFINDER #7
RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS #20
    THINK TANK #7
    THUNDERBOLTS #9
    WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #29
    WONDER WOMAN #20
    X-FACTOR #256

BQ: Comic book related – My mom introduced me to comics and always said to herself, “as long as he is reading”.

  32. 1. Age of Ultron 8
    2. Avengers: The Enemy Within 1
    3. Nova 4
    4. Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin 2
    5. Wolverine and the X-Men 29

Also, I had my LCS pull last week’s Astonishing X-Men 62 for me, since I’ve just now started buying it (got the

BQ: When I was still living at home, especially in the year before I left for school, every week we would watch the new episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and eat homemade popcorn (fresh-popped on stove, with homemade cheddar cheese sauce. Delish!) Also, she’s an excellent grandmother to my niece and nephews, and makes the effort to keep mentioning me around them (I live far away from my parents and sister, and so I never see my sister’s kids, so I’m glad that they’re getting frequent reminders about their uncle).
