Comic Book Casting: The SANDMAN Movie
March 22, 2012 9:33 pm Although Jude Law has played his share of heroes, I've always thought that his best roles were as entitled jerks (Wilde, Mr. Ripley, Huckebees etc), Lucifier, especially Gaiman's take on Lucifier, would be perfect for him.
My concern about adapting Sandman to film is that they would have to cut alot of the detail out of the narrative, which is a problem as so many plots/characters cycle back around in the last stretch of the series. (@JokersNuts, Corenthian would need be introduced somewhere, so that he can play his part in The Kindly Ones). If it weren't for budget issues, I would definitely say go the tv series route -- in fact, I might still argue that. Honestly, I've always had trouble imagining the series translating well to live action. That doesn't mean it can't be done, only that I'm pretty skeptical about it . . .

March 20, 2012 11:42 pm I know we say this every month, but more people really should be reading this -- one of the best titles out there right now . . .

THE UNWRITTEN #35
March 16, 2012 11:23 pm I disagree -- I think that the .5 issues are essential, especially given the importance of Pullman in this week's issue. Besides, they're brilliant reads anyway . . .

Pick of the Week – 03.07.2012 – Swamp Thing #7
March 8, 2012 9:04 pm That did happen to me once, so for the rest of the issue, I just made sure to pay extra close attention to panel flow. I'm not complianing, though, as the layouts (& finishes) were knock out . . .

DC Histories: Night Force
March 7, 2012 1:22 pm I'm intrigued, but don't know if it'll fit the budget. I'll flip through it in the store and see. Mandrake strikes me as a good choice for the art . . .

Light Week? Try THE MANHATTAN PROJECTS #1, EMITOWN Vol. 2, & GREEN ARROW #7
March 6, 2012 1:08 pm So, I'm not the only one disappointed in SHIELD? i thought that it started with potential, but by the time Michelangelo popped at the end of the first arc, ir all felt too much like a Dan Brown novel, and I dropped the series.

Top 5: Design Elements Added to Make Comic Characters More Edgy
March 6, 2012 1:02 pm When I first saw the Animal Man image, I thought that you were going to take a swipe at his Walkman, which in hindsight is both still cool, and a little "hey look I'm hip" (not that Morrison would ever pander to trends :)).

EXCLUSIVE! Image Expo: HAPPY! from Grant Morrison & Darick Robertson at Image Comics
February 27, 2012 9:55 pm The Doom Patrol run is briliant -- start there. Also, if you can find the first Seaguy trade (I heard it was out of print), it is well worth a read as well . . .

Who is the Batman of Earth 2?
February 27, 2012 9:53 pm I'm betting on Thomas Wayne, as Morrison probably has first call on Damain Wayne as Batman stories . . . I would be intrigued by the above idea that each of the Trinity is one of the Earth 1's parents . . .

February 27, 2012 9:51 pm . . . that would be exactly what my comic habit needs at the moment: a Batman with flip-down shades . . .
