March 19, 2013 2:02 am Well, except they were planning to make it live action, with hour-long episodes. Personally, I would love to see an animated Chew, with half-hour episodes. I could see FX picking it up, though some of the colorful language would have to go.
December 15, 2012 3:33 pm The Joker was once my favorite character, but ever since The Dark Knight (don't get me wrong, Ledger was incredible), my love for the guy has taken a nosedive. He's just too powerful, too omnipotent these days, with him completely taking over Arkham this issue being a good example. This series is written consistently well, but like a few people before me have said, Snyder's smaller tale in The Black Mirror knocked me on my butt, while this has me shrugging my shoulders after each issue.
August 23, 2012 4:51 pm The mushroom discovery was probably my favorite moment of the issue. And yes, the guy really is a master of pacing. Excited to see what comes next, since each issue has been its own beast so far, which is great.
August 23, 2012 1:03 pm Unless I'm forgetting something, all the characters coming in on the boat are new to the series. The Rocketeer isn't really about arch villains and the like.
August 22, 2012 9:05 pm Dang, this issue didn't really do it for me. Not bad by any means, but I was a bigger fan of the lone wanderer discovering a planet rather than the group dynamic here.
August 22, 2012 4:10 pm This issue was a lot of fun. After reading the anthology-style stories of the previous series, it's great to see Cliff and the gang get some breathing room. And yes, this is the perfect creative team for the character.
August 20, 2012 11:34 pm Goodness, between this, Revival, Fatale and Saga, you almost don't need to buy anything other than Image books, do you? They are certainly killing it right now.
August 1, 2012 8:36 pm Exactly! I feel the same way. "Whoa, seeing Swamp Thing tearing shit up is great!" And now, "Man, I really miss the Swamp Thing that defeated his villains with a kind-hearted and empathetic conversation."
August 1, 2012 8:33 pm I think I'm going to take the leap and drop both this and Swamp Thing. I loved both series for a while (Swamp Thing all the way up until he actually became Swampy, which should never be the case), but this story has just become too wacky. The Rot never feels like a threat, just some kind of looming presence that comes up in stilted conversations, and then bursts onto the page with explosions of pink goo. Snyder and Lemire are brilliant elsewhere, so I'm okay with stopping now.
July 13, 2012 10:21 pm When I saw the phrase "rural noir" on the cover, that's all the convincing I needed to pick it up. The book being incredible and getting my POTW was unexpected, but it really is that good. Can't wait to see where this goes.
