May 21, 2013 12:19 pm I'm a huge fan of the classic series too and I LOVED this movie. I happened to watch Space Seed and Wrath of Kahn back to back before I went and saw the new movie just in case. I couldn't have been happier with the film, it gave me everything I hoped for out of the villain and I loved the throwbacks to the original series. I thought it was just fantastic, I REALLY don't get the negative reaction the film is getting, but then again I didn't get the negative reaction Iron Man 3 got either.
May 20, 2013 1:13 pm Man that Gotham Knights run was sooo bizarre. With the weird Hush identity fake-outs and non-mystery, the strange case of The Joker's wife, just so much randomness went on during this run.
May 15, 2013 8:16 pm For some reason this issue just grabbed me and hooked me. The art was top notch as always, the writing was very good this issue. I loved the meeting between Kate and Alice/Beth, and the interactions between Batwoman and Bones were very well written and drawn. I think Bones is up to something, I hope Kate doesn't trust him and his little Boy Scout oath.
May 15, 2013 8:13 pm This was a good, solid issue Anyone else thinking Azzerello should switch gears a little bit though?
May 15, 2013 5:58 pm I never heard of Scribblenauts so I almost missed this! This sounds so cool, I am definitely picking this up! Luckily I have a WiiU :-)
May 15, 2013 3:38 pm couldn't agree more. Cons can be so much fun and are definitely worth the money.
May 15, 2013 1:11 pm When I was a kid I was definitely a collector. Amassing hundreds and hundreds of comics with my father, that we bagged boarded and stored in long boxes. I loved the comics and still do, even though I didn't read nearly all that we bought. Now I am definitely a reader. I buy and keep tons and tons of floppies as well as trades, but I do it because I love to read them and I love the characters and stories they offer. I never bag and board anymore. Also, I live in a small studio apartment in NYC and there just isn't room for all those long boxes these days. My old collection that I amassed as a kid still exists in my parents storage locker, but they are itching to sell them (much to my chagrin)
May 14, 2013 5:44 pm “He’s back alive, just deal with it.” I hope it’s the latter. --- Please tell me you're joking. Come on, his death was a huge plot point in the Avengers. It mattered. They should just wave his death away with nary an explanation? Just, "he's not dead anymore, deal with it"? Have a bit more respect for the audience than that. An explanation, any explanation (brother, clone, faked death) would be better than "um, its about a comic book so who cares. DEAL WITH IT"
May 14, 2013 1:28 pm Real life conversation I just had with a co-worker. People were talking movies, and Man of Steel got brought up Coworker very excited "oh I cannot wait for that movie! I am so excited for that!" I perk up "oh are you a fan of Superman?" Coworker "oh yes, big time. I am a HUGE fan of Superman!" Me "so you read any of the comics?" Coworker "...no" Me "oh I guess not that huge of a fan then" My point in bringing this up is, why won't people who claim to me "HUGE" fans of these characters pick up a book and read about them? I think the movies need to have commercials right before the feature starts advertising the books the hero appears in and where they can be purchased.
