This is my first review on this site. I am also a new comic collector/reader.

I went into this comic not knowing what to expect. When I opened the cover and started reading the first few pages and drooling over the amazing art I knew I was going to be hooked. I really enjoyed the “starting over” and “Getting back to the roots” approach of this book. I didn’t know anything about this character before and I find a lot of these new comics just jump right into the action. I find I get lost in the books, how did this character become the superhero everyone loves, I want to know.

That is great and all but I want a comic that goes into the character, explaining how they came into their powers, some much needed meat. I like how the writer is taking 4 issues to explain cole cash and Grifter and how Cole is just mis-understood.

After finishing the comic and got the the last tease page, I wanted More. I don’t want to wait until next month to read the next issue. That, my friends is what a comic is all about.

This comic is a MUST pull, at the very least grab the first issue and read it. I am sure you will feel the same as I did when I read it!

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. Thanks for the great review, emberman! I think we “long timers” too often forget what it was like the first time we found our way into a comic shop (or, in my case, to a spinner rack) in search of a comic book that was accessible, featuring a character we could sink our teeth into. Your perspective, I think, is quite valuable, and I’m glad you shared it here. Thanks to your review, this comic reader of 20+ years will be picking a copy of this up on Friday (unless it’s sold out, in which case, I’ll buy it digitally).

    Thanks for the advice! 🙂

  2. Great, review. I hope you stick with this title and really hope it’s sales numbers are good enough to keep it going so long-time Wildstorm fans like myself can continue to see our favorite characters in print each and every month!!!
