Another great Green Lantern comic!

Last week Geoff Johns and Doug Mahnke brought Hal Jordan back to Earth and gave us a break from the multicolored mess that was Green Lantern of the last few months in a superb first issue. This week Tomasi and Co. follows suit with a perfect jumping on book. If you know nothing about the GLC and fear picking it up, don’t worry, Tomasi does a fabulous job of explaining what the Corps are and how they function, and does it in a way that also allows to get to know the two main characters of this book – a kinder, gentler Guy Gardner and a more confidant John Stewart.

I’ll admit I was apprehensive about this book after reading the preview and seeing the amount of violence on display here, but the strong writing of GLC makes the violence mean something. Guy, John, and their new Corpsmen: Vandor, Sheriff Mardin, Isamdt Kol, Hannu, and Brik are going to into a war that could mean the end of one or more of them.

This one book was better then the last 10 issues of the GLC put together.
