Shit. This is really my entire Bat-related experience of the week?! Bummer.
I'm not saying that this was awful or anything. It just didn't deliver what I was expecting from Gotham's bad girls. You would think Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn would make for some bitching Bat-stories, but all I see/hear is a bunch of bitching.
So Catwoman tells Poison and Harley that Bruce Wayne is Batman, but along with a bunch of other folks who play the role of Batman from time to time. What was all that yibber yabber about Talia putting a mind chip in her head so that she could never reveal the true identity of Batman about if Catwoman just goes ahead and tells them that Bruce Wayne is Bats anyway? Besides, Bruce is supposedly dead now anyway. They just lost me with that. Last month's cliffhanger turned out to be a total waste. They got the info they were looking for and dead nothing with it, nor did they hardly give any reason why they wouldn't roll with it. BLAH!
So out of nowhere Harley decides to go shopping, and then out of nowhere, she happens to just walk right into a heist to kidnap Bruce Wayne (who is really Hush) and saves the day. Catwoman receives a pic of Harley and Hush (disguised as Bruce) together so she hauls ass to go save her friend. Didn't Harley and Poison Ivy just have "Kitty" locked into a mind spell so that she would reveal Batman's true identity like five minutes ago. If somebody did that to me, I wouldn't give two shits if Hush iced them or not. I wouldn't be able to trust Harley or Poison as far as I could throw them if I was Catwoman, I don't see why she is going to let them stay at her crib, let alone worry about their well being enough to go save them from getting killed. WHATEVER...
The art was not all that awesome either.
I'm giving it three stars, but it should get two and a half. I guess two and a half is three if you estimate, right? IDK

Huh…I didnt think about that when I reviewed this.
It doesn’t make much sense why these girls are teaming up once they ambushed Selina like that. Dini needs to do something amazing next issue to change my mind on this series.
^Why are these girls teaming up? Because DC knew that a Paul Dini series featuring those characters would have a huge amount of goodwill on the part of eager fans, at least initially. But there’s really no point to it; the situations seem contrived and forced. Don’t get me wrong, if you’re going to get a guy to do some Batman comics that don’t really…matter, then Dini is your best choice. He knows the characters really well and he can play the "workman" role really well without it seeming "hackish". But it’s just not that interesting to me, especially since I’ve seen him do this sort of thing so many times before, like 10-17 years ago, when it seemed way more fresh.
