Alright I’ll give it up to Gulliem March. This was less cheesecake and more good layouts then the previous issue.

We can debate this argument for all time and still feel dirty. But March is definitely a niche type of artist. There’s a reason he got picked to do this particular title and it clearly shows throughout this. But as I said earlier, this was pretty good to look at on a whole. The layouts were really good within this, like with Catwoman flashbacks and the present. Or during the car chase with Harley Quinn. Also I really love the colors by Jose Villarrubia. It makes the pages stand out much more then a regular colorist would’ve done. Kinda makes it more of a European comic then anything else.

What hurts this issue on a whole, is sadly the writing by Paul Dini. What happened here!? It was so easy to tell what was going to happen next that there really was no tension in this. Dini still writes a great Quinn and Hush in here, but when it comes to the ladies interacting…well it’s just not up to par with Dini’s other work. I’m still a bit excited where Hush is gonna go with these ladies (that’s what she said). But if the hook of this series is gonna be these three ladies together (Three’s Company style!) then the interactions have to be better.

So in about a months time the praise has flip flopped for me. Art was pretty darn good looking, aside from the beautiful ladies, and the story was pretty ‘meh’ overall. If the title stays this inconsistent for at least the rest of the arc. I mean it pains me to say this….but….I might actually have to drop two Paul Dini titles in one year. That just troubles me, you have no idea.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 4 - Very Good
