God it's good to see Deadpool come back! Man I was totally worried about this issue, with being an SI tie in and all. But geez, this was a funny and well written issue. That's what makes Deadpool work, sure he's another guy in spandex, but as long as you make him funny he can be a great character. Daniel Way did a fantastic job with Deadpool in the Wolverine: Origins arc, and it definitely feels like the same character. He talks to himself, a lot, and in third person mind you. He also gets into hallucinations frequently, the funniest moment was that he imagined the Skrulls has huge fans of his and wanting his autograph.

The art is pretty well done too, cartoony but fits the overall violent aspects of the guy. Again when Deadpool get's his visions out of wack it's like seeing a cartoon like Spongebob or something. Plus the cover was pretty sweet too, looks like something from Ultimates 3...but the difference here is that it's actually good looking in brown.

Overall this was my POTW for one reason, it was funny. Every page was entertaining and the jokes kept on coming. It definitely feels like the Deadpool of old, right when he was at his peak of popularity. It's a shame this had to get pulled in to SI cause it could definitely work well without it...But if this first issue is any indication, we might see some of the best humor in a book and more importantly....Deadpool could become a great character once again.
