October 28, 2009 9:44 pm I bought the first trade from Grecian when I was in Chicago.  He was a pretty cool guy and the book has this great X-Files vibe to it.
October 24, 2009 10:18 am I love Omnibuses and oversized books.  Bigger pages make me really slow down and appreciate the art more, and having more story at once is always good because I always want to read more.  I recently finished the Strangers in Paradise Omnibuses.  Those huge tombs took almost two weeks to read and have like 1200 pages per book.  Every bit of the reading experience felt larger than life and seeing it all together really leaves you awestruck by how much work he actually did.  I never minded reading the books either, I normally read in a recliner.  I'm not bothered by the weight of a book, I just want more story.  More story all the time.

And another fantastic free web comic is BodyWorld on www.dashshaw.com

I thought Bottomless Belly Button was good, this is like that with a more reprehensible protagonist.  I especially like how its formatted in a long vertical page.  It makes reading the comic far more enjoyable on the internet than having to load each page.

October 18, 2009 8:57 pm I just finished Gabagool, that was a fun little romp.  I'll check out the other one soon, thanks for sharing these Josh.

October 14, 2009 10:49 pm I think costume design has to be flashy and memorable moreso than functional.  The headband makes Dazzler look less like everyone else in the book.  That's why it's necessary.  I can see being upset over the weird chairs and clothes in some books, but its never bothered me in super hero books.  Like Xomneon said, it's a world removed from my own.  Who knows what kind of chairs X-Men sit in?  If it's a more realistic story or a period piece, I do think that an artist should be careful about getting it right.  Another good article Sonia, it sparked a debate at my work this afternoon.

I know DC is going to bring Bruce back, my hope is that they hold off for a good long while.  Or that when he comes back Bruce is fundamentally changed.  I think the coolest thing they could do is have Bruce come back and Dick still run around as Batman.

I don't mind that the history's are fluid.  I love good stories.  If it's something I'm interested in, that's my canon.  I don't know if that makes sense, but it helps me enjoy any story no matter how contradictory if its well told or drawn (preferably both).

Thanks for posting these, I won't read them here at work, but I'll definitely be checking them out when I get home.

And if people want more free comics online after they finish these there are a couple issues completed of a fantasy comic my brother and I have been working on called 3rd World on our site www.strips4.com

It's not as professional obviously, but fans of Bone and Digger, may enjoy how we've started out.
