November 26, 2013 12:24 am I definitely didn't see that choice coming, but after reading it? Totally makes sense. On occasion I forget that Jimmy and Amanda do comedy pretty damn well.
November 16, 2013 1:19 pm @Scarlet-Batman See, this is why you spring for DWARVEN craftsmanship.
November 11, 2013 4:21 pm Yeah the set design was VERY reminiscent of original series Trek.
October 29, 2013 10:41 am Glad to hear All Star Western get a mention. Other than Snyder's Batman, it's been the most consistently enjoyable book since the re-launch. I'm also really glad that even with the occasional guest star, the book has been able to do its own thing. Not sure what to think of Pretty Deadly yet. I'm hanging on for an issue or two more though regardless. As for Velvet? Wow. Somehow I'd forgotten how much I liked the Brubaker / Epting team. So very good!
September 11, 2013 12:57 pm It's really, really good. Worth it just to see Samnee and Murphy's takes on Batman.
September 2, 2013 6:51 pm Dear iFanboy staff, Thank you for an awesome site, for creating an atmosphere that celebrated what was good about comics and not just complain about things that were wrong. Thanks also for using articles like Sketch Up to introduce me to artists I might have missed otherwise, finally thanks for the user reviews, the best tags ever, and running a damn fine comic book news site. And finally thanks for motivating me to write a few user reviews, too damn few mind you, and for allowing me to become a part of the podcast by featuring one of my reviews. Thanks again guys and I'll keep listening as long as you keep recording 'em.
September 2, 2013 4:19 pm @Conor I know I'd pony up!
August 28, 2013 3:34 pm One thing that kinda depressed me about the New 52 was that there had been a plan to spin the characters and creative team from Generation Lost into their own title. The reboot killed that off. Still, we did get a great maxi series out of it.
August 28, 2013 3:28 pm The quick resets are mostly a modern thing. The initial Justice League run, from the Happy Harbor Days to Detroit was over twenty years. It's just kind of hard to communicate that rather long expanse of time while still giving space to offshoots like Extreme Justice. As for the Giifen/DeMatteis/Maguire years, those books are definitely worth tracking down along with I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League and its' follow up. As Jeff mentioned, all of them feature great dialogue, fun expressive art, and a super team that actually seems to like each other. On top of that it features one of my favorite portrayals of Batman.
August 28, 2013 2:31 pm If you do want a brief taste, Tom Katers tackled late era Gardner Fox Justice League up till Justice League Detroit in his first podcast, Tom Vs. The JLA.
