I want to like this book, I really, really do.  It features, not only Cap’n Steve (as most of Marvel’s books do these days), but also Bucky Cap and Union Jack!  One of my favorite minis of the last few years was Gage’s Union Jack story, London Falling.  Invaders Now, unfortunately, will not be joining London Falling on the trade shelf.

Invaders Now is a textbook example of how comics is a visual medium and that no matter how interesting the story may be, or how invested in the characters you might be, if the art isn’t up to some standard, it’s not a good comic.  The writing is solid and while, if not groundbreaking and  serves as a semi-reasonable excuse to gather World War II’s greatest superheros.  The art, on the other hand is stiff and awkward.  I wish I could say something good about the series, but I’m afraid it just doesn’t do what it should.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 1 - Poor
