Well, for one, this really should have been 17.1. Because the United We Stand portion of Ultimate Spider-Man isn’t even…

April 19, 2012 4:31 pm That sounds classless and asinine on the part of the artist.
April 19, 2012 4:31 pm I like Manifold. Or just Cylinder. O-Ring just sounds....well...after Austin Powers, I can never hear that without thinking "who does no. 2 work for?! who does no. 2 work for?!"
April 19, 2012 3:38 pm Here, I like it so much I'm gonna share: http://i.imgur.com/SbIYn.jpg '09 Nissan Sentra. Still trying to come up with a name.
April 19, 2012 3:34 pm One kid at C2E2 didn't follow the "Don't Hover" rule, and for once, I'm kinda glad he didn't, or I wouldn't now have one of my favorite pieces. I strolled up to Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye artist Alex Milne's booth in the Alley to see if he'd finished an Optimus Prime headshot sketch I'd commissioned the previous day. I got my sketch, but saw Milne hard at work on an unfamiliar Transformer. The kid in question, I'd seen standing there for maybe 20 minutes straight as I'd passed the booth a few times. Total hoverer. Probably his first con. But still. Anyway, I asked him which Autobot that was, and the kid bursts out, "That's my car!" Seeing that, I innocently asked how much it'd cost me to get one of those of my car. His girlfriend (wife?) got my money and I got reference to her for later, and now I have my car as an Autobot. So, occasionally, when others break the unspoken rules, it works out in another's favor.
April 9, 2012 7:18 pm The only panels I really want to attend are the Spider-Man and Ultimate Marvel ones, anyway. The rest of the time will be mostly spent on the floor.
April 9, 2012 3:41 pm There are some artists/writers there that I do want to get some stuff signed. When it comes to books, what's better recommended, if I ever have to part with them? On the cover, with a silver Sharpie? Or black? Inside? If my last comic con experience was any indication, make sure you know what artist is going to charge what for original sketches. It definitely varies. Also, avoid the celebrity handlers, and you'll save $30-40 if you find them wandering the floor. Simply ask them for a photo, and if they say "no," at least you asked nicely. If you then want to get in line to pay that much for an autograph/photo, that's on you.
April 6, 2012 2:54 pm Yeah, you had a pretty great "guest" voice cast with some who actually stuck around a while. Micro Machines Guy as Blurr (and he even does it in current incarnations!), Robert Stack as Ultra Magnus, Eric Idle as Wreck-Gar, Ernest f'in Borgnine as Kup, Judd Nelson as Hot Rod, Casey Casem as Cliffjumper. It was a smorgasbord of the 80s on the Autobot's side.
March 17, 2012 5:49 pm Just noticed something else: Why does he need holographic targeting on his web-shooters? Isn't his web-slinging subtly guided by Spider-Sense? They referred to this in the 616 (pre-Spider-Island) when his slinging was off because he'd wiped out the Sense while battle Smythe.
March 17, 2012 5:19 am I like this. I won't hate until I see a couple episodes. At first I thought that, with the "Ultimate" name, they were actually going to base it heavily on the comics. But then I realized that, honestly, it can be a bit dark for Sunday morning cartoons and the kid demographic, so I understand the light-hearted, comedic nature of it. I have to say, though, that I didn't like the fact that, at least the way they cut the trailer, that the only reason they're using the "Ulitmate" moniker was due to Fury wanting to make Peter the "Ultimate" Spider-Man. Just smacks of capitalizing on the name. But, this seems like it'd be more like a "What if," in which the last Peter Parker "Ultimate" arc didn't happen (yet) and he had more time to train with S.H.I.E.L.D.
March 17, 2012 5:14 am In an earlier reply I said the same about the suit, but I do not like that they straight up made it armor, complete with repulsors. That wasn't what the suit was about. If Tony could give repulsors to Spidey, why not Cap or Hawkeye? Makes no sense.
