August 26, 2009 9:21 pm I don't see how this story doesn't make sense. I'll agree that it's not new reader friendly, but it makes sense. The whole story is Barry trying to find out why he's back. He didn't want to be back; he felt like he didn't belong, like there was no reason for it. And now we find out that he wasn't supposed to be back. The book is basically building up why Barry Allen is so important to the DC universe.

August 25, 2009 3:49 pm @TheNextChampion - I feel like I read somewhere that since they added the extra issue, Van Sciver had to rework a few pages in this one. That could totally be me making up excuses for the book though.

Definitely reminds me of a Quitely/Pope hybrid. And while I love the attention to detail (costumes that actually resemble clothing...), I can't say I'm the biggest fan of the Daredevil pin-up (although that's probably just because I hate the yellow DD costume). The Furry Water book looks awesome though.

Mike, that movie voting thing is only one half of the bracket. You can still vote for Iron Man when they put up the other half (though it's up against Superman 2).

And in regards to that Slate article, some people are just always going to be elitist. Not much you can do but ignore them and hope their drivel eventually morphs into nothing more than an annoying ringing in your ear.

I don't think they ever said the rings control just the body. All of the Black Lanterns have their own (warped) personalities intact, so I don't see why, since Allen's soul is merged with the Spectre's, the ring wouldn't warp the personality of the Spectre as well. Deadman doesn't really count because his soul doesn't belong in the bodies he inhabits, he's just using them like puppets.
