August 7, 2013 8:49 pm I agree. As excited as I am to see Hiddleston again in a Thor fim, I'm glad that Marvel isn't trying to shoe-horn him into everything . . .
August 7, 2013 8:47 pm I was mixed on the first Thor film, but have really liked what I've seen from these trailers. The design has definitely improved. Plus, it looks like Sif might actually have something to do in this film. And, yeah, of course, Hiddleston looks great again . . . Looking forward to this.
August 7, 2013 6:53 am In addition to the works listed above, his short run on Frankenstein, Agent of SHADE was really good as well . . .
August 6, 2013 5:29 pm Great article on both Incorporated and endings in general. I won't rehash my feelings on the run (did plenty of that last week), but while it was mixed for me, I'm glad I stuck through to the end. And yes, I miss Damian, who I argue will be Morrison's greatest legacy from his run. As for other endings, Sandman is the first that comes to mind. I still remember reading #75 when it came out; I can get emotional just flipping through it again. Another really satisfactory ending is Morrison's last issue of Doom Patrol, a nice bittersweet, life goes on feeling (which is kinda ruined by DC's decision to end the final trade not with that issue but his X-Force spoof. I mean, it;s good, if dated, satire, but gives a whole different beat to closing the volume).
August 6, 2013 3:34 pm That's good to know. I liked the issue I read (either #9 or #10), so I'm going to keep an eye out for the rest of the series.
August 6, 2013 3:30 pm Trillium has been on my to buy list since it was announced, really looking forward to reading it. I'm curious about Burn the Orphanage, but I'm already taking on two new series this week (Trillium & Sidekick), so it's going to have to be a pass for now . . .
August 5, 2013 9:38 pm An average week for me. Most excited for Trillium. Also getting Dial H, Swamp Thing, Fatale, Sidekick, Shadowman, and last week's The Wake. Will probably pick up Phantom Stranger next week. I'd like to give Quantum & Woody more than one issue, but I wasn't wowed last month and I only have so much room in the budget . . .
August 5, 2013 9:32 pm I've been excited for this ever since it was first announced (a year ago?). Can't wait to read it . . .
August 5, 2013 8:23 pm I've loved this series, and am sad to see it leave. Last issue felt a little rushed to me, as if Mieville was trying to cram into one issue what he originally planned for three or four. I'm glad that DC let him have extra pages for the final, so, hopefully, we'll get a finish worthy of the title. Also, I'm going to miss having monthly Brian Bolland covers in my life again . . . Is anyone familiar with a H.E.R.O. series from the 00's by Pfeifer and Kano? I bought a random issue from a 50 cents bin recently, and thought that it was pretty good . . .
