August 12, 2013 10:47 pm Ever since issue one, this has been one of my favorite books out there. Even after Cornell left, Venditti was able to keep things going just as strongly. I'll definitely miss picking this up every month . . .
August 12, 2013 10:43 pm I just finished reading the second trade last week, so I'm all set for starting this series in issues. Can't wait, actually. And yes, I thought that the first 12 issues completely lived up to their hype.
August 12, 2013 10:40 pm More Nowhere Men would be great . . .
August 12, 2013 10:35 pm Moderate sized week for me. Getting Saga, Archer & Armstrong, Batman, Demon Knights (sniff), Astro City and last week's Phantom Stranger. BQ: Probably either Before Midnight or Computer Chess (though Something in the Air was pretty great too). Best popcorn blockbuster would've been Star Trek . . .
August 10, 2013 10:25 am I thought that this was a strong ending worthy of the series. It did not feel rushed at all, and seemed to tie up things more or less as well as I would have expected. (This series has never been the type where I would expect, or truly want, to know all the answers). It'll be interesting to see how the Villains' Month issue ties into this storyline. Also, I wonder if DC will ever acknowledge these characters, or the explanation of the dials, in the future. Some fabulous art from Ponticelli & Green; I'm disappointed none of it made it into Panels of the Week. Plus, credit for delivering an oversized issue, on time with only one penciler and one inker. We don't see that too often these days from the Big Two . . . I still need to read Swamp Thing, but, it's safe to predict that this'll be my pick of the week . . .
August 10, 2013 10:14 am I'm really enjoying this new arc. The amnesia device is giving a good twist to the story, showing us a slightly different situation than we've seen before. Also, Lance and his housemates are a pretty likable bunch, I'm really hoping that at least some of them can get out of this alive. Also, Scott Walker is one of my favorite musicians, so references to him always brighten my day. And I was just wondering a couple pages before that conversation if their band name was a nod to him or not . . .
August 8, 2013 6:23 pm I liked the first issue, but didn't love it. I wanted to give it more than an issue, but it was a heavy week for me, so I let it pass. Next week should be lighter, so I'll give it another shot then. Glad to see some love for the Valiant titles, I've really been enjoying their out put.
August 8, 2013 6:12 pm If you want something mostly serious, go with X-O Manowar. If you'd like some humor and whimsy mixed in try Archer & Armstrong. They're both great books. Shadowman has also been consistently good.
August 8, 2013 5:40 pm Or they could be trying not spoil the plot for us. Personally, I'm glad that they haven't revealed much about the actual storyline. Though, yeah, ruining the Stone Man gag is a shame . . .
August 7, 2013 9:16 pm @zlbenson, that's brilliant -- I'd buy it. Isn't Valeria supposed to be potentially smarter than her father?
