May 18, 2020 4:38 pm I agree with you completely. It was important to show the dark side of post-war prosperity.
April 30, 2020 12:05 pm No need to apologize -- it was a terrific email and a fun discussion that came out of it! Thanks!

April 19, 2020 1:16 pm A place to buy DAYTRIPPER is already linked in last week's show notes.
April 10, 2020 11:46 am Nope. We enjoyed Bearded Superman and talked about him a lot on the show.
March 28, 2020 1:40 pm First of all, I would never in a million years recommend "Knightfall" to anyone. As we said on the show, Chuck Dixon wrote terrific batman books for, literally, over a decade. Here are some of his great runs: Batgirl: Year One #1-9 Nightwing #1-70 Robin #1-100 Birds of Prey #1-46 Detective Comics #644-729 If comicbookdb.com wasn't still down I would tell you which collections they exist in. BATGIRL: YEAR ONE is obviously collected and some-to-a good portion of the NIGHTWING, ROBIN, and BIRDS OF PREY runs are also collected.
March 28, 2020 1:34 pm In his very first appearance, in DETECTIVE COMICS #38 (1940), in the very first panel in which he appears in costume -- after a snappy two-page origin -- this is what the caption says: "And thus Dick Grayson, by the hand of fate, is transformed into that astonishing phenomenon that young Robin Hood of today -- Robin the Boy Wonder!" (Clearly, they are missing an em dash between "phenomenon" and "that.")
March 8, 2020 4:07 pm The Flash TV series was being developed in 2013. They obviously knew where they were going with the West family because, as CCO of DC Entertainment, Geoff Johns was able to introduce the corresponding comic book version in 2014.
