December 6, 2012 11:49 am Am I the only one who is lukewarm to Hyperion being on the team? I just don't think a Superman-analogue fits well in the Marvel U.
December 6, 2012 11:24 am This is one of the first comics I ever remember owning and reading repeatedly! I love this comic and still have it today. There's a panel in there of some thug punching Batman in the gut and breaking his hand without Bats even flinching. Man, I gotta dig this cherished childhood memory out and dive back in. Seriously. Llove. This. Book.
November 28, 2012 11:17 am Paul this is a triumph of a review. Really, just a fantastic write-up. Thank you!
November 28, 2012 11:09 am Captain Universe? Goodness, I didn't realize the Captain Universe pageant still happened. Poor Steve Rogers, always a Captain America and never a Captain Universe.
November 27, 2012 3:54 pm "But then again, the “modern” part of me knows that no matter what happens to Hank, it will turn out okay, so what’s the point? Is the journey the reward? I dunno." Mike, could you clarify this for me? Are you speaking directly to your affinity to Hank or are you talking about all characters you enjoy? Because if it's the latter, that type of ennui confuses me a tad simply because I would argue that the journey of reading comics (and experiencing stories in any medium really) is absolutely the point. Or perhaps you are saying you're just looking for new journeys with new characters, not established IPs that cannot by their nature every really change to much.
November 20, 2012 7:03 pm Can they reproduce? Have the proper precautions been made? I for one welcome our new Immonen overlords, ready to toil away in their comic-mines.
November 20, 2012 6:57 pm Well, Judge Dredd and Top Gear.
November 14, 2012 10:22 pm 1. It's comics starring a billionaire who dresses like a bat and fights clowns, so don't worry about it 2. I f you are going to worry about it, let's say that the Joker's skin was altered on a molecular level when he had his initial chemical bath that transformed him into the white skin, red lipped, green haired maniac he is now. It made his face change in color, elasticity and prevents it from decaying on a normal human level. Dude never needs moisturizer.
November 9, 2012 6:07 pm I thought for sure that Swamp Thing panel would elicit a Jolly Green Giant quip, obvious though it may be.
