June 4, 2013 1:14 am Personal interests and hobbies are normal. That's what's known as being an 'interesting' person.
May 31, 2013 10:25 pm Weekly's Ketchup. That Cinar is a hot dog.
May 25, 2013 4:15 pm My personal tastes in a comics shop are completely bi-polar- the completely ransacked warren, replete with stacks of unorganized books, rat-tailed staff with broken acoustic guitar and maybe a stinky cat (the Back Issue, Nashua, NH, circa 1984), to those with polished floors, Mission style furniture and a benevolent staff (Bergen Street Comics, Brooklyn, happening now). The author successfully makes a good point about being an engaged retailer (whatever you're selling).
May 24, 2013 2:00 pm It's a talent like Waid that illuminates the small, subtle turning points in a story- 'Benson's' menacing taunt through the crack in the door, or even more perfectly, last ish, 'try the red one.' And lest I forget, Samnee's uncluttered artwork- great stuff.
May 20, 2013 11:51 pm A few of the right rocks and some sumac'll spice that roadside grass soup right up!
May 20, 2013 11:46 pm Off topic a smidge, but the Savage Sword pulp volume collections are crazy good.
May 20, 2013 11:08 pm I had a friend, his Mom was from Ireland. You'd call looking for said friend, and she'd reply, "Paul's working, why aren't you?" Just a nostalgia trip......
May 20, 2013 2:17 pm I always look forward to Daredevil. BQ: I'd bring the snacks and the guns- I'm the logistics type, not so much bullets and flying glass squealing tires and such.
May 19, 2013 9:07 pm Wish we could've had a completely new, original Star Trek story. Bad case of the winks.
May 19, 2013 1:57 pm In a Star Trek film trying to define the Starfleet mission as that of diplomats and explorers and not militants, there was little evidence of the former. Though Abrams certainly does these 'countdown clock' action set pieces well, they read as typical summer blockbuster fare, not Star Trek. That said, the casting is great.
