July 15, 2012 5:19 pm Ah, I see what you mean. I apologize for not thinking more into your first statement. I guess I'm just an old man stuck in my ways. One of my favorite memories of all time when I was a child was seeing the end of Superman 2 when he put the flag back up in the white house. That one scene inspired much of my life and was one of the biggest reasons I joined the USMC. Those were much simpler times when we had more faith in our government and that sadly is no longer the case. I guess that's why I wasn't a big fan of the new 52's Superman. I love almost everything but that, but I know to get the new readers they had to do it in a way that made sense in today's society. You're most astute about getting our butts in seats and no matter what, I'll be there opening night and pray for the best. It's been too long (Superman 2) that we've had a decent movie about the Man of Steel.
July 15, 2012 11:01 am Nothing wrong with Superman, an American flag, and an eagle.
June 3, 2012 5:06 pm For what it's worth, I don't mind the changes in sexuality for Alan, my biggest problem with both Marvel and DC is their thought process about marriage. Both companies have done away with heterosexual marriages but it's ok to have gay marriage? They need to have both. There is no reason that every married hero in the dc universe became single. I don't go into that whole argument that you can't tell stories if they are married. If you are a writer and can't do it, then maybe the fault lies on you not the marriage. Let's face it, in the real world where at least 40% of marriages end in divorce, we don't need to see them ending in our fantasy reading too. We read these to have an escape from reality for however many minutes it takes to read it. I don't know, like I said, I don't care about the sexuality, but damnit I want my Peter and Mary-Jane, Clark and Lois, Jay and Joan, Barry and Iris, Wally and Linda, and whomever else I forgot. Thats all I'm saying, be fair, have both sexualities represented in marriage.
March 11, 2012 12:56 pm I thought this movie was awesome. For all the nay sayers that think this movie was bad, try and watch Princess of Mars. It's on Netflix and is an hour and a half of my life that I'll never get back. All I'll say about it is Traci Lords as a princess that looks like she's old enough to be Antonio Sabbato Jr's mother and Sabbato Jr as a John Carter with a tramp stamp. That was godawful.
March 10, 2012 2:57 pm I thought this movie was wonderful. I always thought this was an adaptation of an obscure Marvel '70s comic until I found out it was actually 100 years old this year. Warlord of Mars was the second comic I can ever remember getting as a child (the first being Amazing Adventures, hence my user name that i pretty much use for everything) and after the movie I visited my local Barnes and Nobles and got a great deal on a hardback copy of the first 3 novels. I've just started reading the first one and so far so good. This is a fun, in your face family movie that I can't wait to take my little boy to see. I hope everyone can enjoy it for what it is and not try and pick it apart. Life is so much more fun and interesting if you don't try and analyze every little aspect of it and enjoy it for what it is :)
February 11, 2012 5:52 pm There are a number of things I haven't seen mentioned yet in the comments. According to the update, BOTH sides had legal advisors when they came to terms in 2006. If this is in fact the case, then Tony either didn't listen to his lawyers or he had the absolute WORST lawyers money could buy. Any lawyer worth his salt would have told Tony to not sign that particular deal and try to come up with a new one. He did sign it though so it's hard to build a case with that. Also as far as creating the comic, there really aren't too many original things EITHER person came up withl. That being said, Tony only did the first 6 issues so creatively, the lawyers need to figure out how much he did (other than covers) past that. If no other story ideas came from him past the initial storyline, then he really should have no claim on anything else. All the characters in those issues are dead except Rick and Carl, for the most part, and they are totally different both physically and mentally now than they were then, which I'm sure the lawyers will bring up. As far as the show goes, it is totally different than what they did on the comic and if he's getting royalties, as Kirkman claims, then he is really lucky as again, the zombie thing is not an original idea EITHER came up with. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I would love to say i'm impartial, but this time I think I'm going to have to side with Kirkman. I've never met either one of them and have no sentiments as to them being "nice guys" or anything like that, I just believe, with the info we've been given, Tony is in the wrong. Now, as more information gets released, I would flip overt to Tony's side if they could Prove his claims, but again, if both had legal representation when the initial deal happened in 2006, then as much as it sucks, Tony signed the agreement and that's it, end of story.
May 21, 2011 11:14 pm Just tried watching it, but it said this video is private.  Don't know if it's something to do w/ my settings or not, but at any rate, I can't wait to see this..just downloaded the Casket of Ancient winters on Itunes and it was amazing.  This is one of the best comic related animated series I've seen in years  (along with Young Justice).

I loved the 90's era Magnus written by Shooter during Valient's Heyday.  I was so excited to see this being published, but a little disappointed that it's only a limited series.  I would have much rather see this as an ongoing and Doctor Solar as a mini...ah well, maybe it will do well enough to warrent a monthly...guess i'm gonna have to buy a million copies to keep for years to pay for my kid's college and then i'll get my wish...hehe :)

April 12, 2010 7:16 pm I completely agree Hawkboy
April 12, 2010 7:15 pm I've been a diehard Legion fan since the 70's and a superman fan since the 80's, so this book is just rockin for me right now.  I'm really excited that not only will the Legion be getting their own monthly again, but Adventure has at least one up-coming story featuring a tale of their past.  Since everything from the 5 years later and on seem to have been ret-conned Adventure could be used to show their adventures after Crisis on Infinite Earths till now since that seems to be the cut off from the last time Superman saw them.  Anyways, I'm stoked and can't wait.
