The continent-spanning city of North Am is a miracle of ingenuity and ambition, a technological paradise where “milespires” pierce the clouds and robots perform virtually all labor, freeing humankind to pursue leisure and bliss. But in the shadows of the sun-drenched towers, human mobsters use robot muscle “thug — bots” to terrorize the citizenry of North Am. Human trafficking, illegal psychoactive substances, violent crime, and corrosive corruption are suddenly epidemic in the glittering utopia, with only the mighty Robot Fighter to stand against them. When a wealthy heiress is kidnapped, Magnus is drawn into the mob’s deepest sanctuary, where Magnus faces the fight of his life against the immensely powerful half robot, half man known as Big Guns.

  1. Well, I’m excited!  Get those mean old robots Magnus!

  2. I didn’t come for robots getting ripped in half!

I came for the karate chop action!

  3. This book makes me crave trading card bubble gum and Pez. It is pure retro brain candy. Love the art and tone. Glad Shooter is not taking this too serious.

  4. I loved the 90’s era Magnus written by Shooter during Valient’s Heyday.  I was so excited to see this being published, but a little disappointed that it’s only a limited series.  I would have much rather see this as an ongoing and Doctor Solar as a mini…ah well, maybe it will do well enough to warrent a monthly…guess i’m gonna have to buy a million copies to keep for years to pay for my kid’s college and then i’ll get my wish…hehe 🙂

  5. I would guess given the reception of both efforts Solar and Magnus are both limited. Have to wonder how Turok will fare? I am like you though, I am buying multiples.

  6. oh hell yeah! I loved these! Shooter’s writing it too!!! Saw it on the shelf, I’m PSYCHED to get my retro fix!!!!!

  7. I did not much care for the art nor the story in Doc Solar #1.  This book, however, was very, very good.  The art is nice line art and the story has some good character interaction and action.  I’m excited about this one!
