Name: Cameron Rice

Bio: I've been reading the books that they call "comic" for some time now. I was strickly Super-Hero till I stumbled across iFanboy in early 05. From that point I have been picking up new and "edgyer" material that I show to my friends and they go "WTF dude!?" (Guy having his face nailed back on in Preacher will get that reaction).

February 22, 2013 9:55 am Gotta love when someone uses Jeff Goldblume leaving the Pod from "The Fly" as a reference point.
February 8, 2013 9:55 pm Very cool. Probably in large part due to Fury Max, I'm kinda digging these kind of "Back in time" stories. So 70's era Vegas with Howard Starke sounds pretty awesome.
February 7, 2013 6:29 pm My point was this is a chance to create something new. That's the point. Also that with so many announcements, there's a fair amount of apathy now. February 6, 2013 5:45 pm Two things, 1) If these happen, all these films from the Yoda film to these ones, how it won't feel like over saturation I don't know. 2) I remember hearing about the idea of the spin off film, and thinking it'd be cool. We could go out and explore this galaxy, who's out there and what's out there. Instead (again, if these happen) it'll be the same characters, just over and over and over again. Apparently, despite the books, comics and games, nothing else ever happened to anyone in this universe except all the people we met in the first three films. The one thing Star Trek has to its benefit is it wasn't scared to create new characters. Even though we are now back to Kirk and Spock in the new films, every new version of Trek wasn't "Young Kirk and Spock" "The Kahn Adventures" "The origin of Chekov and his journey from Russia" and so on. I understand branding, I understand marketing and all that. But I feel like the branding is the name Star Wars itself. Put Star Wars on there, make a cool trailer and people will go. I'm not saying "Make a dark gritty Star Wars films for adults." or anything dumb like that, but just something new. The only one that sounds interesting is the Seven Samurai mock up, which I've heard might actually be the Yoda film...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

January 31, 2013 12:54 am Interesting, this sounds like it's pretty cool. I've never read an issue of Fables but love Unwritten, so I certainly hope (and I'm sure this will be the case) that I can still read Unwritten and be totally fine during this.
