November 23, 2011 12:59 pm I must say I completely disagree with party on this one. What made the first two issues so fantastic was that it was pushed so much and as you would say "unnatural". Just about everyone who has ever heard of Aquaman has either made fun of him themselves or heard someone else make fun of him. It just comes with the territory. With Johns' writing in the first two issues it was DC saying to everyone, "We know what you think. And now you're going to love seeing yourself while you're being proven wrong." No one likes to be proven wrong. Yet Johns has managed to make me, and a lot of people, laugh and love being wrong. That's just good writing. The "more natural" process just simply wouldn't have been as fun, nor probably as effective.

November 16, 2011 12:12 pm I'm really surprised to see all the flak at the book. I love the simplicity of it and how Johns is taking it back to the roots. I just loved GL calling Batman a tool while on the phone with flash, right in front of him. Still cracks me up thinking about it.

And I'd have to agree with your original post. I don't know if I've ever enjoyed comics so much. Love the work Snyder's been doing, and most people at DC frankly. Love Winick on Batwing. Love Simone on Batgirl. It's a great time to be a Bat-family fan. And just a great time to be a DC fan.

November 16, 2011 12:00 pm I completely agree. Anyone who complains about Capullo's art on this book has got to be blind. Capullo and Snyder are both killing it on Batman.

November 9, 2011 11:14 am I'm surprised to hear of so many people on the edge with this book. I've absolutely loved this, especially the first issue. Granted, I have always secretly had a crush on Babs...shhhhhh. :)

November 2, 2011 11:57 am And to be honest, I'm the other way around. Love Snyder in both Batman and Swamp Thing, especially ST. And frankly was bored with Animal Man. Only reading my friends copy for the crossover and feel like its more of a chore than anything--though considering other New 52 books, that's probably a bit harsh, but yeah.
