January 12, 2012 11:45 pm Hiring China Mieville is the first truly fresh, inspired decision DC has made with this relaunch. If any body can add something new to comic writing, I think Mieville among the absolute best candidates. CAN'T WAIT.
October 2, 2011 6:14 pm @wordballoon: Marvelville? Do you mean Marville from 2002? If so, isn't that kind of a bad example? The book used cheesecake covers to draw people's attention, but you realized it was ironic after reading it, given that the whole series was a satire of the industry and it's tropes. It basically dangled a carrot in front of you and mocked you for chasing it.
September 23, 2011 2:16 pm The FCBD issue of this really caught my attention. Issue one was great, and was hoping someone would give it some love online. Paul, as a fan of crime comics, I thank you.
August 12, 2011 2:46 pm The Eternals Saga is one of the greatest Thor stories of all time and one of the best use of Kirby's cosmic characters, so I'm excited about this. And while Rodi's shown a great understanding of Thor and his Universe with the Loki miniseries and Thor: For Asgard, I was fairly disappointed with Astonishing Thor. Hopefully this is more along the lines of the first two.
July 11, 2011 12:22 pm Anyone knows where those Red Skull panels are from? And/or how modified they actually are?

July 11, 2011 12:17 pm While I don't particularly agree with your sentiment on this book, I agree with it's philosophy overall. This was refreshingly optimistic change for your articles. It was, dare I say, Katers-esque.
June 29, 2011 1:34 am After hearing of Moebius' legend in my teens, I found late 80's trades of The Incal, his Blueberry Saga, Long Tomorrow, and Arzach in my college library. I felt like I had found sacred artifacts. Reading Arzach for the first time was like an out of body experience.

I HIGHLY recommend everything he's ever done, especially Silver Surf: Parable, if you can track it down.
June 24, 2011 4:38 pm @AmirCat: Where did you hear about this Morrison/Quitely new gods book? Is it part of multiversity? Not trying to discredit you, just never heard anything like that. Honestly, I'd like nothing better if you were right.
June 24, 2011 1:58 pm I echo Jezebel's fear completely. Kirby's original New Gods series is my favorite superhero comic of all time, so I'm really scared about all of that universes future within the reboot. I really hope DC doesn't just throw away arguably the most interesting thing in their mythology next to the Superman and Batman mythos.
June 16, 2011 1:58 pm I must say, this seems a bit odd, but then again, I'm sure casting "Vito Corleone" for Jor-El seemed kind of weird in 1978. And look how that turned out.
