This book had it all for me this week. Tragedy, Comedy, action, and a whole lot of exposition.

Now why do I like the expositions in this issue? Cause its mainly telling me how great this ‘New Krypton’ arc is going to be. I am in full swing for this event and I cannot tell you how great this issue was.

I was a little skeptical to think all three major Superman writers could come together and make a soild first start on this. But damn I was actually entertained on all fronts with this issue. I’ve been a huge critic of Robinson’s first arc on Superman. I thought it was boring, unimportant, and overall not a fun time to read. But his stuff in this book was pretty fun and I love his take on Brainiac. In fact all of this issue was great: From the funeral of Pa Kent, to the beating of Brainiac, to the testing of Brainiac, to the first visit of Kandor, to pretty much everything else.

This book was just fun to read and a great part one for this event. It gives us hints on what the true enemy will be,  it gives us insight into all the characters…which will be tough considering this is three seperate titles to work with, and overall it just makes me excited that maybe after all these years: All three Superman titles might be on par with quality again. Definitely check this out, especially if your worried about this new run on Superman by Johns, Robinson, and Gates. I hope you agree with me, that this is the best time to be a Superman fan again.

  1. This book was a slow burn, but in a good way.  I thought that all the emotional beats hit home without being ham-fisted.  Kudos, Super-Team…
